General Introduction

In Nanowrimo 2013, I started a writers' chat thread in the Wind forum with LadyRowyn. Since we left Wind, we've created a writers' chat here every month, to (a) meet new writers! and (b) keep in touch with all our Windy friends. (Hi Windies! We still love you all!)

Some purposes for this thread:

• Talk excitedly about your current awesome writing project!
• Whinge about your current project which no longer seems so awesome and you don't want to work on it any more but YOU WILL anyway. Because REASONS.
• Show off snippets of your writing
• Cheer your fellow writers on as they write!
• Commiserate with your fellow writers as they complain about not writing, or about not being happy with their writing
• Ask other participants to pick one of your dragons for you to write something about in the dragon's bio
• Show off dragon bios
• Admire one another's dragons and new hatchlings from time to time (because this IS Flight Rising)
• Any other writerly activities you want to chat about

"Dragon Writers" is a reference to this being a chat on a dragon site; there is no requirement that you write about dragons in order to participate. (Okay, there really aren't any requirements at all).

This is intended to be a general chat thread and not a critique group. Now, it's absolutely fine for a writer to post a link to their work and ask people for feedback and/or criticism! But it's also fine for people to post bits of their writing just to show off and with no desire to have it critiqued. And it's fine if you participate in the thread without ever sharing anything you write, or giving feedback on anyone else's writing.

Unless a writer solicits critiques, please only respond to their writing with supportive comments (or don't respond at all).

Also, this is a chat thread: we're here to interact with one another as writers. Showing up to say 'I haven't read any of the previous messages and am completely ignoring any conversations going on. Please come to my thread/read my writing' is unlikely to work out well for you.

New Business
Summer has arrived! Some of you are in school, and out of it... some of you are on accelerated summer school schedules... some of you are parents with kids out of school... and some of you... are in the middle of winter! *waves to friends on opposite hemisphere!* What are your plans for the summer?

Also, so many new genes lately! And the 5-year FR anniversary is next week! What do you think we'll get?? :D

Welcome to June, everyone! I am hard at work because I am always hard at work. :D

My year so far has been 'finish one book and publish it, finish two more drafts that need editing, and continue writing two more books that need to be out this year.' So that's what I'm up to, along with a host of assorted Kickstarters, and gleeful interludes where I listen to my own audiobooks and fangirl over my narrators. I am so derp. >.>

I am not super fond of firefly but I am still grinding in grim hope that I will get many python and morph genes because I need like six of each. >.>

Also, I buy too much adopt art. <.<

Anyway. SUMMER IS HERE. *flees from the harsh sun!*

Aw yeah it June! Getting close to my birthday I'm so excite~

On the FR side I've gathered a total of 16 eggs for my birthday mass hatch, and I'm hoping to brew a couple more. I'm going to start my search for hatching lists sometime this month for a dragon born on my wedding day with the wedding colours.

Outside FR life punched me in the stomach two weeks ago and it's been a very stressful time.

i started a new book, which is great. I'm about 2500 words in (I started it two days ago,) and I'm already drained. I haven't written that much so quickly in a while. once summer starts for me, I'm gonna try to write as much as I can!

I continually look at adopts and always see you on the lists. :) It makes me smile~

As for me, I've really fallen off the writing wagon, and I'm hoping to get back on. Work has been stressful, I've been lacking in inspiration, and overall I've been feeling very meh.

But hey, I got a new gaming laptop? :D

I'm planning on writing a story about a magical flying train called The Starflight Express it's a magical train that can fly to all corners of the world it can even reach the domains of the deities.
It captain is a Ridgeback and his Co-Captain is a Fae.

OMG it's June.

Let's see...still working on Dockside Murder, in second draft mode fixing a timline issue. I have some new spreadsheets to play with to help with Beat Sheets and plotting, created my own Character Sheet template for Scrivener, then went ahead and tweaked the novel template I had to more what I need for basic structure. Still more to do, but it's looking more like what I need now.

Soon to figure out mailing lists, and promotions and marketing. Anyone else simply LOVING the Deadpool marketing people? Today I saw in Walmart an entire display of some great movies all redone with Deadpool covers. Hysterical. I bought the Office Space one.

My Hive Mind (publishing authors support team) is meeting up soon for some email list training and digging into Sterling & Stone's CLocking Out deal.

My local writers started doing No Chat Sprint Nites, Tuesday nights. Was super good for me.

Helping 2 other authors with character development and plotting issues.

And I want to get my own edits done, but have painting commissions to finish and get out the door.

June is gearing up for July Camp Nano...

And I am still clearing out some dragons from my lair. I cleared an entire page last month and want to do another page this month so I can have room to get some cool new things and still feed the hungry buggers.

And I have book 2 plot to work out yet....

Is that busy enough?! Bah, who needs sun....

I caught some bug that gave me a lingering cough and midway through the month was put on an antibiotic for drainage. Thanks to that (and depression the day of receiving it), my appetite hasn't been seen in full since May 20. T_T

Very little energy means that I'm not on the computer until 1400 FRT or later, and I don't take the time to write. I sometimes think about it, but I haven't tried to do much of anything, either.
