I'm redoing my lore at the moment, since I'm tired of the peaceful Nature clan where nothing happens. My clan will become a traveling caravan, trading their goods with anyone in Sornieth. However, that's not the real reason they travel Sornieth.
They are soul hunters.
Soul hunters, you ask? See, when a dragon dies, their soul passes over to the Otherworld.
Look at it like this: Sornieth is a piece of paper, all dragons live here. The Otherworld is another piece of paper, always close to Sornieth, but never touching. When a dragon dies, they move from one piece of paper to the other, through a kind of 'hallway', which opens on places where the two pieces of paper almost touch.
But not every soul wants to go immediately. Some linger, perhaps feeling they didn't accomplish enough in life. Maybe they were murdered, wanting revenge on their killer(s). They don't pass over to the Otherworld voluntarily. These souls need to enter the Otherworld one way or another. My clan finds these souls, both benevolent and malevolent, and guides them to one of the hallways that connect Sornieth to the Otherworld. This keeps Sornieth safe.
But the problem is, my clan can't be everywhere at ones. The souls can't be seen by just everyone, so it's not like just anyone can find them. And this hallway, or as I like to call it, Gate, only opens on very specific locations, appearing and disappearing time and time again.
My question to you is this:
Will you aid my clan in their task? Will one of your dragons become a Soul Hunter (hunting down malevolent souls), a Soul Collector (finding benevolent souls), a Gatekeeper (locating a current Gate/hallway), a Beastmaster (training familiars to help the Soul Hunters and Collectors) or anything else they have to become to keep Sornieth safe?
So, that was my very epic intro to all this. Ahum.
Yeah, just checking to see if anyone would be interested in something like this?
I would set up a thread with the different jobs and the current dragons doing those jobs, requirements to be assigned a task, the familiars that are important, types of souls, maybe even weekly lore writing sessions or something? I'd be an interactive kind of thread, I suppose!
Oh, and that name is just a temporary name, let me know if you have any good ideas :P
