Other Animals & Insects I often find a lot of beautiful and unusual critters during the summer. Some of the especially interesting ones being those in the bug category. Here, I will be posting some personal favorites -and might even need help identifying some of them on occasion. :)
Insects
Polyphemus Moth I've found several of these beautiful moths before, and up until recently, thought they were a type of Emperor moth (still very close).

Polyphemus Moth Caterpillar I'm not entirely sure what type of caterpillar this is but, I believe it's either the larva of a Polyphemus Moth or possibly a Luna moth. I find them quite often, especially around certain maple and oak trees. If anyone can tell me the exact type that would be great :)

American Snout These small butterflies are abundant in the summer.

Antlion With an adult appearance similar to Lacewings, the larvae of these beautiful insects are sometimes called ''doodlebugs'' for their habit of burrowing trails in the dirt, and making sand traps. The one pictured below is grown.

Tomato Hornworm This brightly-colored caterpillar is actually the larva of a large moth, known as the Five-spotted hawk moth. The caterpillar's size can range anywhere from 3 to 5 inches, before spinning a cocoon. Though often thought otherwise, they are actually completely harmless.

Green Lynx Spider Very common in fields of tall grass and wildflowers. Notably found where goldenrod is present. Though mildly venomous, its bite is only known to cause occasional, minor swelling.

Plants & Flowers For as long as I can remember, I've always loved flowers and the natural world (which is part of the reason why I take so many pictures). A flowers' bloom may last anywhere from a few hours, to maybe even a few weeks but, a photograph can last for years. At least they give me something pretty to look at during the winter. ^u^
