Dragon Share

So... I still have a lot of dragons that I received on, or reserved a bit prior to, my first day on Flight Rising. I discovered Flight Rising in June 2014 a couple of days after the registration window, so I had a good amount of time to develop a taste for dragons before I could actually register. After I'd been playing for, five or six months and still had so many 'first' dragons, I decided that I wanted to spotlight any of those dragons I still had on my anniversary! So show their achievements, ping the people who gave them to me, etc. So without further ado, today is my one year anniversary of being on Flight Rising, and here are the dragons that I received during my first day(s) and still have and love! She was the first dragon that I ever reserved; I found her in @Sylvandyr's lair and had my friend Silve contact them. Nowadays I find it pretty awesome that I have a dragon from Sylvy's lair because I mean come on everyone can use a Sylvy dragon, they're awesome. -Caster is level 20! -She has art in the making right now by MissouriMule. -She's had all of her litters with my custom progen; all of their offspring are exalts and have their names spelling out message(s) about the dragon band. Themed offspring lists are fun. -She has a weird kind of agility build on the back burner. Caster's the main map navigator in my dragon band, and has a really precise eye for detail. She's occasionally a seeing-eye dragon; sometimes I think 'if she was human, she would be one of those people who did a lot of community volunteering'.[/columns] ----- [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=4341553] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/43416/4341553_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol]Selebri, woah this controversial oracle is responsible for so much lore in my lair. I adore her really a lot. @Silve gave her to me when I first joined because I showed a real liking to her and well she has definitely been spoiled. -Selebri is level 20! -She has art! by the wonderful TheSunTheGodsSaw. pls go commission her she is lovely -She has an experimental 'heal block' mage PvP build. When Selebri was a child she grew up in a camp of oracles who gave her tattoos for each spell she learnt... but she never really picked up on protective measures. She uses her flowerfall to scry along with her pearl. Of all my dragons she'd probably be the most mysterious and intimidating for me to meet.[/columns] ----- [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=7084531] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/70846/7084531_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol]Neuer is a worldcrafter and my only dragon with a non-canon size. She was part of a CS->FR trade that I had with @Merality. -Neuer is level 20! -She has art by GoodKoji, and an WIP picture that I drew is linked on her profile. -She's gone through a ton of gene changes like wow... originally she was basic-iri-gembond just like her mom. I grabbed ripple for her, bought a facet when they came out, and sniped spines for her. -The only thing she still needs is a fire sprite... and a custom accent. She's occasionally created worlds with life, and regards them as her children. She's open to giving guidance but after being in so many worlds, she doesn't hold any one worlds' values above the others... so she can seem a bit lofty but highly regarded. Her physical appearance has changed, too. She's part of my 'festival currency grinding' team with 129 str. -She has art by GoodKoji & Apricoots! -She's among the smallest 10% of all female imperial dragons. She was one of the residents of the very first worlds that Neuer created; when that world fell apart, she came here. Arote makes musical trinkets occasionally, but mostly leads the band's hunting parties. She's the only imperial that really stays close to the rest of the band. Also she is super cute. Her glasses+scarf+lilly combo has always made me smile. She is beautiful and I adore her and she was given to me by @LittleScorpio when I saw her on a giveaway thread! She held Lúloven for me for like, three months because I contacted her on tumblr in June ;w; bless her heart. -Lúloven is level 25! She's part of my festival-currency grinding team. -She has art by GoodKoji! -Her accent, by Silviya, was something that I found and supported on tumblr! Now Silviya has a giant accent store full of plenty of beautiful goodies and sometimes I still think of when I saw that first post during the Plague festival and smile a bit. /littlemelts She does engineering and repair work for larger items like display carts... and goes on deep sea voyages with Koi! He was my first purchase ever from the AH, and I got him because I was saying aloud 'I am a goldfish glub glub' when I saw him.. couldn't leave him behind, of course. Then I noticed that his placement on the colour wheel means that he has pretty babies with almost ALL of my female dragons. I freaked out a little bit at that. I purchased him from @gerbilfat! -Koi is level 25! He was the healer mage of my by-scratch coli team. I'm really glad that I have him and bring him with me to trickier places like the workshop. -He has two arts in the works right now! TheSunTheGodsSaw is making a bust of him, and MissouriMule is drawing him being birbotter. -He's my only dragon with an awakened familiar. Woops. I pay a lot of attention to him. -His bio is full of me adoring him and copy-pasting chats non-coherently in there. Koi does deep sea diving and has found most of the jewlery trinkets that my dragon lair has! He's docile, flowing, but a little tired and has emotionally aged very quickly. He recently found a cursed object on one of his deep sea expeditions that he still wears today i.e. his accent. Luckily, even though he's the main cleric in the band, there were other dragons there to help him out.[/columns] -------- [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=4357711] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/43578/4357711_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol]Aloe was my 'oh no I have a breeding project how did this happen I'm too new for this help me oh nooooo' dragon that showed up at my newbie doorstep when @Soupalicious was giving away dragons from their own breeding project! They got a super fancy wildclaw from it :3 -Aloe is level 25! He's my Mire trainer, and has been responsible for leveling... everyone. Exalts or anyone in my lair that's not Koi, Lúloven, or Arote. He does a lot. -He has art by Orru! That good thir *tips hat to them* makes some pretty cute pixelbabs. -Aloe has gone through a lot scroll wise! I originally got him as a triple-basic fae, and now he's a spiral with shimmer, smoke, and most recently piebald. Gene and just general appearance wise, I don't really have any other dragons that look like him, even though I have dragons with similar colours.... he's a little more busy than everyone else, someone once said to me. I like to picture that his piebald was an eventual loss in pigmentation due to him spending so much time in the Mire. Originally he was going to be a recruiter of sorts... but he really did end up being the main 'trainer' lore wise and site-wise.[/columns] ----------- [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=7338289] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/73383/7338289_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol]Mismar was given to me by @9lley--during a CS->FR trade, her mum was supposed to be part of a trade... but instead, I was given a look-alike daughter :3 -Mismar is level 20! -She has art by GoodKoji Mismar's appearance is based off spring emerging from a frigid winter. She's a kind of transitional, in a way. She was always meant to be my ice alchemist... but now I figure that she dwelves into ice & nature alchemy, along with using shadow magic. She's kind of all over the place. I'm really glad that I still have her... for a long time, I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with her apparel wise, but I figured it out after I was on hiatus for a couple of months and then came back.[/columns] ------- [columns][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=5865070] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/350/58651/5865070_350.png[/img] [/url][nextcol]Finally (but not last, she was like the fifth overall dragon in my lair), this is Rhulian. She's a handwriting anaylisist & a palm reader, and the only dragon who's not a fae (or breed changed nocturne) able to read fae-printed braïlle, like the print my custom progen uses. Rhulian was also given to me by @LittleScorpio! -Rhulian is level 20! She's on my list of dragons that I really want to get art for... she's absolutely gorgeous and I think that she still has a lot of story to tell. I was told once that she looked like autumn turing into winter, kind of like Mismar's seasonal transition. At one point Rhulian tried her hand at star reading, too; but it wasn't quite her fortée.[/columns] ---------------

I remember how thrilled I was (levelling felt SO slow, I couldn't imagine getting my dragons to level 15 on their own!) and how much faster levelling felt when I had a higher level dragon hauling my weak little babies through the Coli. A year later, Riverwalker is now a leveller-for-hire, helping younger dragons survive the Mire. I was a little unsure about this whole "exalting" thing, but I was eager to be a part of the action. It didn't hurt that the In-flight Raffle had a special newbie category where new players could earn tickets by holding dragons for others! leaf was one of the prizes for the Newbie category (donated by @Posibee according to my notes). I think he came complete with a full set of dented armor and battle stones -- in the intervening year, leaf has put the battle stones to good use by becoming a Mire trainer, but he's traded in his original armor for whatever apparel his trainees provide him with during his stay.[/columns] Looking back at all of the gift-dragons I received, I'm still amazed by the generosity and friendliness of Flight Rising players. Thank you all for making this such a great place to be!
