A long time ago, after the fall of the Hewn City, Imperials and Pearlcatchers lived in peaceful harmony on the other side of the river. One day, with Brightshine Jubilee fast approaching, the residents of the Sunbeam Ruins were enjoying their time preparing for the celebrations. A few days before the festival was to begin, however, something strange began to happen.
It was a very bright day, the brightest in a very long time. The Dragons of Light did not think of time as a cycle; they counted time as a continuously straight line, forever moving forward, only knowing that it was time to celebrate Brightshine Jubilee after Greenskeeper Gathering, when the days were long and hot. Nothing else repeated: not birthdays, anniversaries, nothing at all, as they did not have a calendar then to count the days.
Until that day came, however. Many hatchlings were born that bright day, all at once. Every resident of the Sunbeam Ruins took notice of this, and they saw something miraculous happen right before their eyes..
The sun seemed to shine even more intensely when the hatchlings began to emerge from their shells, and one by one they all turned towards the sun, as if it was drawing them to it. When the last emerged, the sun pulsed with a warm Light, bathing the residents and hatchlings in its ethereal glow.
As the sun glistened across the wings and bodies of the small hatchlings, the elder Dragons began to notice their colors beginning to shift. The sun's pure white Light split into its three basic colors: a passionate Red, a serene Blue, and a cheerful Yellow. To the residents' disbelief, the hatchlings seemed to absorb the colors into their scales and wings. This was taken as a benevolent sign from the Lightweaver and all of the Sunbeam Ruins' residents rejoiced that day.
However, all good things do come to an end...
It is quite unclear what happened that night, but the few Solstice Dawnbringers who have spoken up tell of a terrible tragedy, all naming the incident 'The Fall'. From what they have told, it remains the most catastrophic event in their culture's history. Based on what little the Solstice Dawnbringers have divulged and from their own findings, historians have pieced together that 'The Fall' occurred the night the miraculous hatchlings emerged from their shells. That night, all of the hatchlings blessed with the sun's brilliant colors passed away seemingly without cause, their colors fading away as the day fell to the night. It remains a terrible mystery to this day, but the Solstice Dawnbringers would say no more about it.
But, even in the darkest nights, the sun will rise again...
For exactly one year later, when the Sunbeam Ruins' Dragons had long since stopped mourning the loss of their wondrous hatchlings, another miracle took place on the brightest day before Brightshine Jubilee. When the residents awoke that morning, they came across a sight that no one could explain. Before them stood the blessed hatchlings, very much alive and fully grown into adults. At first the residents were fearful at the sight of the risen Dragons, for what kind of dangerous magic could bring back the dead? Their suspicion did not last long, however, and the Sunbeam Ruins' residents soon rejoiced at the return of their beloved children, as colorful as the day they were hatched. They were quickly named the Solstice Dawnbringers, for they were hatched on the brightest and most brilliant day of the year, bringing hope and renewal with them.
Since then, the Solstice Dawnbringers have declared that the longest, brightest day of the year just before Brightshine Jubilee would be the Summer Solstice, and the beginning of the Sornieth New Year. The Solstice Dawnbringers taught the Dragons the importance of 'Time' and 'Beginnings' with the rising and setting of the sun, and shared their concept of the calendar year with all.
The calendar year still used across Sornieth today is based upon the first Solstice Dawnbringers' teachings, and historians have found evidence that the Sundial Terrace may have been constructed by the Solstice Dawnbringers. The Sundial Terrace has since become an important site to the Solstice Dawnbringers, as it is the place they hold their yearly Ceremony of Dawning Light.
Though mysteries still surround the miraculous group of Dragons, they will forever be part of the deep history of the Sunbeam Ruins...

The Solstice Dawnbringers as a whole are very traditional. They have many ceremonies they conduct throughout the year, from holding personal rituals for the deceased to ceremonies for two who are to be wed, but their most special and sacred ritual is the one they hold yearly at Brightshine Jubilee, the 'Ceremony of Dawning Light'.
This is one of the few ceremonies where all Dragons across Sornieth are invited to watch, and on very rare occasions, participate in. It begins before the break of dawn, where all of the Dawnbringers gather at the base of the Beacon. As soon as the crack of dawn appears, they take off in a very slow arch across the sky, as if they were pulling the sun up. It's a very high honor to be asked to join in the flight, and all who witness it say it's as if they were watching an incredibly large and beautiful rainbow stretch across the sky with the multi-colors of the Dawnbringers glinting in the rising sun's light.
Other than their many ceremonies, the Dawnbringers have other traditions as well. One of them is that they are incredibly superstitious and thus carry around charms and such, creating specifically designed ones for different occasions to give to their guests, such as birthday parties and the like. Each charm represents something different, but even then each basic design is unique to the Dragon who made it.
Another of their traditions is that they enjoy making incense and perfumes. For Brightshine, they create a special type of incense they call Soulstice Cleanse. They create it using a special essence of flowers that have been placed into bowls of flowers for weeks beforehand sitting in the sunshine, and when they deem the time is right they take the solution and strain it, leaving the perfumed water behind. Using it, they use it to create the strong but delightful smelling incense they use to this day.

The Solstice Dawnbringers spend their days contently doing their daily rituals, spending a lot of time outdoors. Being attuned to the world around them, they prefer to do things outside under the sunlight. That being said, when storms blow in or the weather turns chilly, they can sit inside all day, doing their rituals, reading their manuscripts, and other such activities.
Though they tend to be closer to a select few, they generally have a mutually neutral relationship with the rest of their Clanmates, though they can be up to making friends with all. It is said, though, that they the Clanmates should approach them and start conversation as the Dawnbringers are a bit socially awkward in general and not good at striking up conversation. The best way to get close to them is to simply enjoy their company, as they generally prefer to think then to talk.
With their tendency to be more listeners then speakers, they tend to have a hard time getting their thoughts across, especially when it comes to meeting new Dragons or talking to their beloved. Their awkward natures can sometimes end up in miscommunication and end things badly if the other Dragons' aren't paying close attention to what they actually mean, as their way of speaking tends to have double meanings, as though they seem to come across gruff and abrupt, they're actually quite endearing, but not very good at showing it.
As far as talents go, the Dawnbringers are incredibly talented both intellectually and artistically. Hailing from the Sunbeam Ruins gives them a natural wonder and adoration for scrolls and intellectual writings that they love to pour over, but they have also gained an incredibly strong since of artistic value, seeing the beauty in all things. Both of these makes them a very highly renowned group of Dragons, many of whom going into professions of artistry, intellectual ideas, and other similar fields, including herbalism.
As they see the life and beauty in all things, they are generally have a more pacifistic view on the world, thus avoiding fighting most of the times. They believe that fights should be resolved with words and ideals over fists and pain, but in the times they realize that fighting is necessary they prefer to take on a more medical job. Healing allies, supporting them in combat without hurting anything themselves, they prefer to do this over fighting in combat, as they find it dishonorable to lay their claws on someone they have no quarrel with, and even then they should resolve it in a more civil manner.

Solstice Dawnbringers are harbingers of luck and good fortune for the new year. Created soon after the fall of the Hewn City, they experienced a terrible tragedy when the first Solstice Dawnbringers fell shortly before Brightshine Jubilee. Arisen a year later, they were the ones who created the yearly calendar all of Dragonkind use to this day. Time is a very important concept to them, and they are responsible for sculpting the Sundial Terrace. Throughout the year, they have the ability to grant small wishes, but every year when they gather for the Sornieth New Year and Brightshine Jubilee, they grant one wish, any wish, to a single Dragon. Naturally socially awkward, they are actually fairly friendly and open to meeting and making new friends. Their Clanmates should approach them first, though, as they are not the best at starting conversations. They are also extremely secretive, so don’t be surprised if they refuse to talk about a certain subject. One thing they love to talk about is their professions, as they are both highly intelligent and creative; that is usually a good topic to start with.[/columns]
Solstice Dawnbringers are also very ritually inclined, taking their ceremonies and traditions very seriously. They have many rituals and ceremonies, particularly ones for marriage, but the most important is their annual Ceremony of Dawning Light. They also make small charms and pendants to carry with them for many things, such as good luck. Each family of Solstice Dawnbringers passes down their own unique charm design from parent to hatchling.

Lore Tidbit Solstice Dawnbringers are harbingers of luck and good fortune for the new year.
Habits/Personality
Solstice Dawnbringers tend to appear unfriendly, but don’t judge them too quickly. Naturally socially awkward, they are actually fairly friendly and open to meeting and making new friends. Their Clanmates should approach them first, though, as they are not the best at starting conversations. They are also extremely secretive, so don’t be surprised if they refuse to talk about a certain subject. One thing they love to talk about is their professions, as they are both highly intelligent and creative; that is usually a good topic to start with.
Diet/Hunting
Both Imperials and Pearlcatchers of the Solstice Dawnbringers prefer Plant foods, particularly fruits, over any others type. They avoid Hunting, Fishing, and Insect Catching altogether due to their pacifistic nature, and they love Digging and Foraging.
Combat In general, Solstice Dawnbringers are not very combative and tend to be pacifistic, preferring taking a more supportive role, such as healing, rather than fighting. Even so, they hold the firm belief that all fights can be settled with words rather than fists, and generally try to stay out of combat at all costs.

[columns]The Prismatic Dawnbringers came about from an accidental experiment Baldwin tried to pursue. Having seen the bright colors of both the Solstice and Equinox Dawnbringers, he asked volunteers to see if he could make their colors more vibrant. A group of both Solstice and Equinox Dawnbringers, curious of what he had in mind, agreed to volunteer to be the test subjects. Over a course of a month, the volunteered Dragons worked with Baldwin in trying to make their colors more vibrant than before. At the end of the month, Baldwin acclaimed the experiment a success. The result is the multi-colored sect of the Dawnbringers seen today. They have the same powers of the Solstice and Equinox Dawnbringers, but they seemed to have dampened with their change, though they do seem to be very intellectual.[nextcol][/columns]

They have very similar personality traits as the Solstice Dawnbringers, though Prismatic Dawnbringers are far more reclusive. They are much more solitary, though they work well together and with other Dragons who practice alchemy. The Prismatic Dawnbringers rely on their intellect more often then not, coming across very cold and calculating, but they do have a soft spot for those that manage to become their friends. Due to their serious natures, Prismatic Dawnbringers are much more secretive than the Equinox and Solstice Dawnbringer. Because of this, they won't even speak of the history of the Dawnbringers, and when asked about it they will ignore the Dragon asking altogether.

Notes - All Prismatic Dawnbringers have at least one Baldwin gene
- Even if the Dawnbringer has the requirements of the other Variants, the presence of at least one Baldwin gene will automatically default that Dawnbringer as Prismatic
Lore Tidbit
The Prismatic Dawnbringers came about from an accidental experiment Baldwin tried to pursue. They have the same powers of the Solstice and Equinox Dawnbringers, but they seemed to have dampened with their change, though they do seem to be very intellectual.
Habits/Personality They have very similar personality traits as the Solstice Dawnbringers, though Prismatic Dawnbringers are far more reclusive.
Diet/Hunting
As both Equinox and Prismatic are more or less pacifistic, they tend to be very careful choosing what they eat, only helping carry the food back if they went Hunting, Fishing, or Insect Catching. They very much prefer Digging and Foraging and actually enjoy it quite a bit.
Combat Like with the Solstice Dawnbringers, the Equinox and Prismatic Dawnbringers tend to avoid combat at at all possible. The Prismatic Dawnbringers tend to take on more of a defensive approach, both verbally and physically. Though they don't like hurting others, they will take the hit and defend those they care about, as though they don't show it, they don't like seeing their friends hurt in any form.

How Symbolism Works
Symbolism is a highly, though not necessarily required, important part of the Dawnbringers as a whole as the Symbolism is what determines what abilities each Dawnbringer posses. Each Dawnbringer has an almost unique meaning and symbolism based on it's breed, genes, etc. The following Solstice Dawnbringer will be used as an example:
Given these traits, a very useful way to tell what symbolism he posses is to list each trait down with their corresponding symbol. This method is often used by the parents of newly hatched Dawnbringers to estimate what profession would the hatchlings be best suited to.
Solstice Dawnbringer - Strong powers and abilities
Imperial - Represents Wisdom; Wise and is probably very enlightened.
Iridescent & Opal - Both represent Change and Flow of Time; Must find the concept of change and time very fascinating, probably studies it in great detail.
Butterfly - Represents Relationships; Most likely gets along fairly well with those close to him.
Cerulean Primary - Represents Intelligence and Clarity; Very intelligent, most likely scholarly.
Once the list is made, it is then possible to draw a series of summaries the hatchling's, or in this case the Solstice Dawnbringer's, future may hold and what course of profession the Dragon should pursue. Here is an example of what the daily life of the Solstice Dawnbringer may have:

These are some of the Dawnbringer's most enjoyed items. Not everything they enjoy is on these lists, however, as each dragon is unique.
