TOPIC | The Oldest Ancestor
1 2 3 4 5 6
For funsies I started following the family tree down for one of my dragons to find the oldest ancestor it has. I did it by abusing tabs. I'd open both parents in new tabs and close out my current dragon. Then I'd go to the furthest out tab (so that I always knew which ones I still had to go through) and I'd open the next set of parents and close the current dragon, go to the furthest out (to the right) tab and repeat until I got to a gen one dragon. Then I did it with every tab until I was left with the oldest gen one dragon ancestor. This was the dragon I checked for fun. This was their oldest ancestor, owned by @ToxicCreed I'd done this for a dragon without a high id number previously, and it takes so much less time. This one took forever to find out. (if you try it, let me see your dragon's oldest ancestor)

Oh, wow. That...is an impressively old ancestor. I've seen this type of thread before and tried it with a few of my dergs, but never got anywhere near that kind of ancient in my family tree, even with my oldest dergs! Very cool!

...Well that was a short trip for me, but very interesting! @ciceqi I was surprised too! I had followed the family tree of a few dragons, but I never got below the low thousands. When I hit 32 (and 33), I was kind of blown away.

@sockmonkeygerald (random comment) I really like Singer! That is one really cool looking dragon

I did this too pretty recently! It turns out my custom progen Captain has one of each dragon species (minus Bogsneaks) in his descendants~ Most of them have been exalted but a few of them are surprisingly still active with his most recent active descendant being 3 months old now. But my oldest dragon is Cometrush and he's actually a 2nd gen! Here's his (still active!) father:

Okay, so I thought I'd try this with my dragon Cloudfire Who is 3 months old, and I also have kept one of his daughters, and I love them so. Okay. Problem. I have a like a gajillion way tie for June 5, 2013. I gave up at 12 tabs devoted exclusively to these "winners", and I wasn't even done with his father's side of the family. (EDIT: Okay, yeah, I could have checked the ID's numbers for the oldest, and I guess I'll do that among the tabs I still have open, give me a sec. Okay it turned out to be one of the ones I mentioned anyway, for the tabs I had open, but seriously all these threads, like every single one I'm going down, seems to lead me to 2013, what the heck, I own a Skydancer why are all these so old, it's so interesting.) Among these tied dragons, 5 1st-gen Imperials, including owned by @Ares actually has some energy Edit: AAAAAND is dragon #132! Pretty impressive! And among the non-Imps the totally fed @Ariehenix 's Shywar And by extension Who isn't fed, but in the same liar, so yeah.
