I like scrying dragons (read G1s in my case) and I've decided to help out other people who don't have the time to scry or who simply don't want to. This is a free service, but tips of any kind are always appreciated. I will always try to at least give you 2 viable options! [b]No need to ping me, I'm subscribed to this thread![/b] When posting in this thread, please use the BBC code or the dragon's ID# (or both). You're free to list as many preferences as you want (genes/breeds you like or genes/breeds you want to avoid). I'm personally a big fan of trying to match accent colors and I use a lot of gem genes/breed changes myself, so without preferences you'll get something similar to the ones listed below. [center]@Echoshine She's so cute! I absolutely love her <3 First thing I thought of when I saw her colors was an oil well deep underground. I usually don't use Scrolls of Eternal Youth, but I thought it would fit her quite nicely. I really like Alloy, since it makes the wings match the eye color so well. For primary and tertiary, I liked Metallic/Wasp and Lace (surprised myself there)/Capsule. I chose SD since I really like what Alloy does to the wings, but most other breeds work too! [center]@Ophionyx Sorry for the delay! Was having dinner and watching my series. First of all, I agree the secondary is the hardest to work with in this case. It's especially hard if you try to make all 3 genes match in some way. So I decided to try that first and this is what I've come up with. [img]http://flightrising.com/dgen/preview/dragon?age=1&body=21&bodygene=15&breed=4&element=4&gender=1&tert=3&tertgene=5&winggene=10&wings=155&auth=1adad7a8b910cff4872dd0e38d3bdf617ad8eca1&dummyext=prev.png[/img] Skink/Paint/Underbelly (Capsule would also work) As you can see, if you want all genes to match somehow, I think White is the only colors they can possibly have in common. What I really like about this is that she has matching eyes, but even though they match her primary color, Skink still manages to make them pop due to the white markings in her face. After I made this I saw you have this scry (as Coatl instead of PC) already in her bio. The other possibility I've found is this one [img]http://flightrising.com/dgen/preview/dragon?age=1&body=21&bodygene=1&breed=1&element=4&gender=1&tert=3&tertgene=20&winggene=19&wings=155&auth=378ebad80ee9a1076db92f634549571e97d407ab&dummyext=prev.png[/img] Iridescent/Rosette/Ghost I can't really explain why, but for some reason this combination works for me. This was a really hard girl to scry. After exhausting nearly every possibility I happened upon this one and was pleasantly surprised. The Ghost gives her a very spooky vibe and I feel like the Rosette somehow supports that vibe. And by using Fae, the focus is directed away from the primary (due to Ghost covering almost the entire body). I really hope this helped. Like I said, she was a tough one, but I still believe she has potential! :)[/center]

Thanks a bunch! Yeah, skink/paint is the one thing connecting those colours, which is why all my previous scries had paint in it. It works pretty well, and I like her as a pearlcatcher (don't have many of those yet), but for some reason it just didn't do much for me.
However, I love ice ghost, especially on that blue, and the rosette gives some good contrast. I'll probably be going with that, or some other gene will have to come out before I gather the funds :P

He has some nice colors that I feel go very well together The first thing I noticed is how Skink's accent color matches the Mint from the wings. I feel like this matches the darker parts of the body fairly well due to Stained bringing the 2 colors a little closer together. I have to say, I like this scry a lot better than I expected. You could go with Jaguar here instead of Skink, so the markings on body and wings complement each other. This does however also get rid of the matching colors tying the entire dragon together. I hope this helped, I'm sorry I couldn't find a way to make another primary work. It's not that those scries are necessarily "ugly", they simply don't compare to how well Skink's accent color matches the rest of the colors. Good luck deciding! ^_^[/center]
