Alright, so I sell hatchlings for a particular pair (they're the pair in my breeding card that links to the hatchery) and ever since the release of Ghost, I've considered changing one parent's gene to Ghost. The decision is difficult because I sell the offspring, and I don't know how changing the gene may affect sales and hatchlings! They're a Naomi pair, so Circuit has been a really good fit for their lore, but Ghost also seems to work in terms of the creepiness factor.

I have the choice of [u]keeping them the same[/u], [u]changing the gene to Ghost for the next nest[/u] (and temporarily raising the price of offspring) or [u]changing the gene to Ghost a lot later[/u] (to avoid having to jack prices). I've polled my pinglist [url=http://www.strawpoll.me/15073957]here[/url], but have only gotten three responses (though they all prefer adding Ghost). Thoughts?

You gotta go with Ghost! Tbh keeping up with popular new genes is part of the cost of running a successful hatchery, and you can definitely make profit

I actually really like the color effect on Teal Ghost, and I think it looks nicer on a lot of their secondary range than Circuit does because there's no gradient on the wings.
Like, looking at the Shadow/Teal and Cornflower/Teal girls in your hatchery right now the Circuit kind of muddies the edges of their wings on their adult scries, but if they had Ghost the Shimmer would really shine.

Rouke That’s a very good point, one I didn’t think of! That’s defintely true- Circuit is pretty dated by now, and I feel that if not for the fact it matches the Naomi lore, my hatchlings wouldn’t sell as well.

I think they look AMAZING with Ghost!! Yeah, it's a shame to let go of a gem gene you bought, but letting your dragons grow and change is part of the game. :D

i really like the cleaner look of ghost on them. aesthetically i think it's the better choice, even though it'll probably decrease in popularity over time. if one is a naomi descendant, maybe hedge your bets and ghost the other one, so that you have the option to swap them out if you change your mind later rather than shelling out for another circuit?
the fact that you gened them yourself i'd disregard, that's the sunk cost fallacy at work- money's spent, so it's not like if you DIDN'T regene it you'd have the 1200 gems in hand (at least that's the kind of thing i tell myself as i regene my favorite dragons over and over, haha).
