I got lucky to just level up and unlock the tomes so I could brew it for her instead of buying it so that saved a decent bit... John I bred myself (I was hoping to get him because the nest was set to hatch on his canon birthday and got a perfect little Eggderp out of it!) and I don't think I spent quite as much on dressing him because I got a bunch of the pieces from chests with some luck!
