Stained has always been one of these genes I ignored - it's expensive and, I thought, never really look right.
Well, this gen 1 fandragon found his way to my lair recently :

Runewander Thanks! And yeah, I'm so shocked, it gives him such a different look, I love it. Time to start saving up for a scroll, I guess.
I really like your girl too! Stained makes her look eerie and mysterious I think, I would have never guessed her actual colors.

Just yesterday I bought two G1s that share primary and secondary colors, and plan to get them to look like this:
