[columns]@DynamiteByCruz Ooh, those are pretty cool! A lot of my fandragons have at least color-matching familiars, but I tried to also fit the themes of them as close as I can. Sylvalum is based after a continent in Xenoblade X, filled with giant alien mushrooms and covered in spores and glowing orbs and whatnot. I was very happy when I found a familiar that matched her colors and general mushroom theme! Ignis is definitely one of the wisest characters in that game, so an owl fits him very well, imo. She does have a couple dog familiars in the game that resemble Skoll somewhat, but she was also born on the Solar Eclipse in 2017, which fits the mythology behind Skoll perfectly! @DynamiteByCruz Here are some of my favorite matches from my lair! I match all of my dragons with familiars based on color, but my favorites are color AND lore matches. My dragons are fandragons, which makes that kind of match harder, but I get so excited when I can make them work! The character loves sharks/a sports team called the Sharks, so a shark familiar with eyes that match C's tertiary was perfect. Partly it works because Holster is canonically huge and physically imposing, but the real reason I love it is that the angel-like boar is a reference to an obsure-yet-technically-canon alternate universe made by the author where the character becomes a guardian angel (this is also why Holster is a guardian with a seraph secondary). The dragon is based on the Marvel character Clint Barton, who has at times gone by both Hawkeye and Goliath in the comics and dresses in purple. Perfect, right? I have some others like this, but I think this post has gotten long enough. Basically, I love familiar matching!
