There actually is a subspecies discord. I'd invite you to it but I don't know how. Anyway, I have 3 subspecies of my own - Snow Leopards, Cyclones, and Volcanoes. Pretty much all of my dragons are wearing skins or accents, so I'm using the Workshop to show the subspecies.
The Snow Leopards go from triple White to triple Ice. There is one variant called Night Leopards that are triple Obsidian to Eldritch. And yes, I am regretting making the colors so narrow, but it's too late now. It also has various genes.

The Cyclones are living storms that soak up elemental energy to become different types of storms. I have one for every flight except Shadow and Nature. All the genes are Cherub/Seraph/Smoke or Piebald/Paint/Crackle, and each variant has different colors.
This is the Wind variant, the Tornado.

And the Plague variant, the Acid Rain.

And finally, the Volcanoes. Pretty self-explanatory. There are 3 variants - standard, Lave Wing, and Frozen. The standard Volcano keeps their heat everywhere. The Lava Wings hold it in their wings. And the Frozen Volcanoes are Volcanoes that got hit by Ice magic.
Standard Volcanoes go from Grey/Grey/Saffron to Obsidian/Obsidian/Fire with a variety of genes.

The Frozen Volcanoes have the same genes as the standard in Antique/Antique/Storm to Platinum/Platinum/Sky.

And the Lava Wings only have Bar or Lionfish, Toxin or Noxtide, and Glimmer, Underbelly, or Opal in Silver/Sunshine/Sunshine to Obsidian/Fire/Fire.

I keep thinking of making a subspecies of these two. I get lazy though and I am not a good writer. They are based off of African Wild Dogs.

@EclipseOnyx I made some lore for this pair (as they were a long running project of mine), based on toxic minerals and pigments they produce naturally. Thus the pair's name as 'Toxic Pigments'

(they even already started having a small family on their own, as I havent been able to find home for their kiddos...)
that I guess /could/ count as a subespecies, because as far as I was working they were the only dragons with their characteristics (blue/red/yellows), until I hatched Scheele, who matches in kind with my vision of their kind, and let open the possibility of expanding a bit more on them haha, that is if it ever gathers some interest

This is a resume of both the pair and Scheele's lore:
[i]
Both of these dragons were born with an anomaly on their genetics, where their bodies (through te capsule gene they have) shed mixes of chemicals that eventually concentrate and crystalize into ore that is grinded to an either yellow-ish gold (in Oropimente's case) or red-orange toned gold (in Realgar's case), that they expel from their mouth at any moment notice- this in order to not overload themselves of the toxic stuff-, however they refuse to use it as an aiding method in their hunting as, despite being inmune to their poison, it leaves their food with an unsavory sour taste. Despite the mineral's creation taking place inside a confined space deep in the gut, one is able to see for themselves how the toxic dust gathers just bellow the neck and belly in a bright showcase (which turns to be a safe self-defense system).
Their bodies are naturally inmune to the very arsenic they make, however the rest of the lair is not as lucky, as prolonged exposure to the capsuled dragons causes a range of illness, from body pains to vomit to -thankfully not yet- death. It's by this reason that this couple chose to isolate themselves from the main lair and set home near the vicinity of the Artisan's Ward -a place used by the craftmen of the lair to make their produce and/or live-.
Here, they established a small home of their own and, in agreement with Ward dragons and nearby clans, became first kind providers of the toxic ores of their namesakes, which prove to be useful in many ways they didn't knew about.
The future holds promise for this pair as they have found ways to live a peaceful life despite the harshness of their condition, they have chosen to start a family on their own.
