This is more like unrequited love. Ysanne is in love with Tethrax but she's never told him, or even plans to. And he's too busy with helping to run a kingdom to notice her feelings. Also, he doesn't really care about any relationship whatsoever. He has too many responsibilities and he's afraid of going insane someday (related to something about his past).
