Wondering why, seems a bit silly to me that they can only wear Skins.

@ShadowedScales They talked about this in their update post. They want to be more creative with new breeds and genes but it costs a lot of time for them to redraw apparel and genes for new "mordern" breeds.

@ShadowedScales I’m not sure if this is quite the right forum for this thread, but I believe they explained that firstly, it is so that they can break the lineart! I mean, Gaolers are just the first of the Ancients, but take Gnarlhorns for example. Imagine they added a new gene that gets in the way as much as that one, rendering lots of existing apparel useless with the gene because it’d just get in the way! Also, the reason new (modern) breeds are taking so long is that they have to redraw not only every gene, but also every piece of apparel for them, and new stuff is added all the time. Ancients don’t have apparel, hence faster implementation in the future!

That being said, I still think some particle-type apparel could be enabled, like the flowerfalls. But maybe it’s simpler to disable all of it!

@Denial - I think they should try and create new pieces of Apparel suited just for Ancient Breeds. Skins are so expensive, and at the end of the day my Gaoler looks 'naked' compared to all my other ones because it's not able to be equipped with anything.

@ShadowedScales I get that, but at least we’ll likely get cheaper festival skins for them? (Although I hope that won’t overthrow better entries for this Brightshine simply due to the new breed hype.) We’ll see if they will add some apparel later, but I’m afraid the freedom to make wild genes is too good to pass up on.

I'm terrible with apparel so i'm very happy that the ancient breeds will sacrifice apparel for awesome mutations/modifications? Is that just me?

@Denial the whole point of them not getting apparel was so that they were free to do lineart breaking genes that they'll never be able to do with modern dragons so ancient breeds will never get apparel

you're more than welcome to commission an artist to draw you skin/accent clothing, there are a ton of talented people i'm sure that would love to take on the challenge

@hungryhobbits Did you mean to ping the OP? I realize that is the point (see my earlier post if you’d like), and honestly I’m not big on apparel anyway. Nor Gaolers, really, but I hope we’ll get even cooler breeds later! c:
