Anyways, I've been trying to breed to get this dream gal here:

When that used to happen to me, I would use that hatchling as one of the new breeding project parents! You'd just have to find an unrelated dragon with similar colors, but his colors are already exactly what you're looking for so if you find a mate then it wouldn't be too bad of a range hopefully :)

Yep, that's what I'll try to do. Thanks for the advice! It just sucks because coatls already have over a month of breeding cooldown and I was so close this time.

True, that does really suck. but look at it this way - now you can have two breeding pairs going at the same time, for double the chance! :D

i would not only find a mate for him but continue breeding the parents--double the chances of getting what you want. i know the struggle of rng having a personal grudge against you all too well :/

This is what I fear when I got primal eyes from the pair(s) that I'm breeding....
I mean I want a male primal...so if it is female...

I got THE perfect colors for one of projects and it was female instead of male... i just gave up and waited for one to pop up on the AH...

Never happened to me. I did have a project though to breed an xyy coal/antique female with Light unusual eyes, and I got that on the first try from a one-egg nest.
Other than that and the space-theme project I'm currently working on, I've never really bothered with breeding projects.
