Find a Dragon

Okay so I've been thinking about this for a while... Whenever I exalt or sell a dragon, I always wonder, is there someone out there on FR looking for a dragon with this particular color combination? So I thought, if people were interested, why not create a spreadsheet of people's dream dragons? That way, other users out there can make sure that they're not exalting a dragon that someone possibly really really wanted. They'd merely come to the following spreadsheet, look up the color combo or etc, and find if anyone was looking for that particular dragon! It'd be a lot easier than scrolling through all the posts in this forum perhaps? All notes have been rearranged to correspond with the original users! Sorry for the confusion! [u]31 January 2015[/u]: Okay lots of new things! An automatic alphabetizer has been put in place! Now the sheet sorts alphabetically by username, so I recommend putting all the rest of your info in first, and typing in your username last so you don't have to go searching for where the alphabetizer decided to put your name. Also a new Gen1 column has been added! Make an X if you want your dream dragon to be Gen1! ----- [b]Good Things to Know[/b] [LIST] [*]Put absolute/hard demands in [b]bold[/b] and aspects you're flexible on in plain text! [*]To find dragons with certain colors: [LIST] [*]Use [b]Data[/b], [b]Filter Views[/b], and select Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary Colors. [*]Click the green symbol in the upper-right corner of the color column. [*]Press Select All to reset the filter, then Clear. [*]Search for the colors you want to show up. [*]Currently, the filters cannot mix so you can't search for a specific color combination. If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me! [*]Please [u]do [b]not[/b] use the Sort function[/u]! [*]Also, [u]do [b]not[/b]Sort from A-Z or Z-A within a filter[/u]! This completely messed the filter up since the rest of the data in that row does not follow the alphabetical sort! I think this would be most useful for the rare color combinations.

For example, my friend has been trying to breed soil/lavender/ice for months.

I'm looking for spring/swamp/maize.

Genes and breed aside, it's hard enough just finding parents in a range of colors that people exalt more often!

@maplebit I think you may want to make the color columns separate (like make three columns for primary, secondary, and tertiary). If people use that spreadsheet, it would become very hard to look through it otherwise.

I think I was just wondering whether it'd be harder to search for color combos then?

@maplebit If you want ideas for a project like this, I might also check out The Dragonwish Foundation (http://flightrising.com/main.php?board=drw&id=1136494&p=mb)? They've got pretty similar goals to the idea you've got there :)

@WhirligigHorse Ah yeah that's pretty similar! I'll have to do an overhaul of the spreadsheet tomorrow then...

I think my goal here was just to see if there were any existing dragons that were dream dragons for someone else while they seem to be more focused on actively breeding them! This spreadsheet is mostly for just getting your dream dragons out there, just in case someone hatches it one day! Although I can definitely see the overlap ^^
