I have a lore idea that I want to write up a bio for and sock away in the front/lore page of my lair. I don't have a dragon to match what I have in mind. Time for another search thread!
I want a character who exists to fill the basic need people have for someone who will listen to them and take their problems seriously even- especially- when those problems are petty or commonplace, but will put on enough of a show to make it seem like something much more major is going on, since most of what's needed is to process and then purge the emotion. A cross between MacBeth's witches, a fortune-teller, Mister Rogers, and Dear Abby. I'm going to name her Boffo, as a Discworld reference and short description of her role.
Dragon must be:
-A Coatl. All of my dragons that have been magical Discworld references, whether just in name or something more, have been Coatls and I want this one to be too. I don't want to scroll it; those are expensive.
- Colorful. I don't want any sad-sack sickly-looking Coatls here. No monochromes, prefer not brown-range or any of the truly muted tones in the color wheel either. Black ranges are OK but only at only one location- just the primary, secondary, or tertiary.
- Female. The character I have in mind is definitely female.
Dragon must not be
- All one shade or tone, matchy-matchy all over. Absolutely no triples. I am also skeptical of doubles and near-doubles unless some kind of major contrast or other eye-catching effect is achieved via the genes.
- Subtle. Eyeburners are fine, even encouraged. Anyone who could successfully lurk in a dark corner probably doesn't belong here.
- Basic-gened. This dragon is not basic. She is very extra.
- Obvious fodder. I do want contrast and the unexpected; colors and genes that just aren't remotely working together even if you squint, not so much.
Encouraged
- Flashy genes. Poi/tox and pin/trail. Petals/Butterfly. Vipera and, god help me as I normally hate it but it'd work with this concept, Hypnotic. Cherub. Jaguar/Rosette maybe. Capsule. Gembond if it's a contrast against the other colors, especially if it's a "gemmy" color like sapphire or amethyst. Jupiter/Saturn would be cool. This would also be a good occasion for Clown as long as it wasn't one of the more muted results.
- Bright colors I really like and welcome the opportunity to see used in a well-composed dragon: Caribbean. Mantis. Tangerine. Lemon (in genes without brown accents, for this specific use). Ruby.
- Shadow eyes are preferred but not required.
I'd prefer to pay in treasure. I have a limited store of gems. I'll pay highly for *just the right* dragon, but it better be really, really right and really, really unique for above 50kt. And, obviously, I'm only buying the one dragon.
I'll probably only respond if interested. Feel free to ping!
