A Wayfarer Told Me
I can bring you news from afar
care to hear a tale?
I am the mouthpiece for thousands of lives
What better than to share?
I've trekked with Snappers of Dragonhome
that was a history lesson!
And studied with Faes at Starwood Strand
for magic is their profession
There was a Tundra I fancied so
she lived back at icy Cloudscrape
But when I returned from Trickmurk Circus
she would not remember my name!
Have you visited Nature domain?
It's tranquil, the milieu attractive
And I do admit, vis-à-vis
the Spirals back home are hyperactive
If there's someone above of the curve today
that would be a Pearlcatcher
Don't look when they're mending their precious, though
that is a different chapter
You'd think that Guardians are serene
given that water's their origin
But they can be rather obsessive at times
even by a very large margin
Don't believe the rumors of Mirror-kind
they're really a friendly bunch
But evade if you're in between of their prey
otherwise you might just go 'crunch'
Looking for cutting edge technology?
The Shifting Expanse's your destination
But if traditional machinery's more your style
you better heed Flamecaller's invitation
I still do not know as much as I'd like
there's plenty to see and learn
The world is wide, but I have time
I'll be elsewhere in a moon's turn

I personally chose Wind flight because I absolutely love to travel, so my approach to the poem was to tell a story through a wandering wind dragon, of what they've learned during their travels. Not sure if that still counts as wind being the central theme, but at least I had fun writing it. :D (also English isn't my native language so sorry if there are silly grammar errors!)
