So I'm sure that by now you've all heard of chinapiggy's Give a surprise, get a surprise thread. And don't get me wrong, that's a fantastic thread! I've participated in it myself a good few times, and I don't expect this one to take off as well. The problem is that I noticed a large imbalance in the giving and getting - people were giving 600t battlestones and minor health potions to people who gifted eggs or silks, and that just isn't fair. Basically, I'm trying to lay down a thread with a few more rules than the other one.

1. Be polite and respectful to everyone.If you gifted less than the minimum, own up to your mistake and make it up to the person. Don't be that person.
2. Make sure your total gift value is at least 50k. (50,000) Don't be stingy! You'll get something just as good. If you want to go higher, great! But you might not get more than 50k's worth.
3. Items are worth AH value!
4. Please edit your claim in a timely manner. Don't post and then leave for two hours, that's just being rude.
5. This isn't a junk heap! Don't give out items that are difficult to sell (coli crates, coli skins, certain familiars, etc: as a general rule, if it has less than 7 listings it's probably hard to sell) - try checking out the person's profile to see if they have a wishlist and gift something from there.
6. The gem to treasure prices on the AH can be so random sometimes that it's hard to tell the true value of an item. Basically, go on instinct. If there's three 50-60g sales and one 150000t sale, the gems are probably more accurate. Don't just base yourself on the treasure prices - check the gems too!
7. In light of recent events and a discussion between myself and some users, we've agreed that Coliseum Crates and skins are a no-no except when explicitly stated so on a person's wishlist. This is because very few people actually want them and they're therefore very hard to sell.
8. Be explicit in what you are sending! Don't just say "some apparel", because then I can't gauge whether you're being fair and sending 50k's worth.
9. It's fine to send cheap food items to someone who collects them, but it's NOT fine to send out 10k worth of those items and nothing else. Ex: Someone collects Item, and a stack of Item on the AH is 10k. Send them 5 or more stacks, not one!
10. Gifts in the form of art are okay as long as you ask the receiver first. Not everyone wants art, and that needs to be respected.
11. Don't just gift raw currency. It takes the surprise out of the game, and it kind of ruins the fun. Unless the person has "cash for lair expansion" listed, or it's too pad out some items that just barely didn't add up.
12. No dragons. Unless specifically requested in the case of a dream dragon or exalt fodder (in which case it would be valued at whatever the giftee values it as), dragons are not permitted. Their value is just too subjective.
13. If you’ve been gifted below the 50k minimum, here’s what you can do: Ping me or PM the user! I'd ask you to PM me so I can try to resolve the issue, but in accordance to site rules all issues must be resolved between the two users. I can however check in to see whether the items gifted truly meet the minimum or not. Thank you for understanding!
14. Don't delete a post after you've made it. That's cheating and could mean the person above you getting skipped. Don't be that person.
15. It's all well and good to have a wishlist, but don't say things like "If it's not on the wishlist don't bother". It's incredibly rude and a bit entitled - this is after all, a surprise thread! And a giving game. Remember the saying: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
16. No Baldwin materials unless it's on someone's wishlist.
    

Other than that, standard rules apply! Claim a slot, and then edit to ping the person above you and use the [ item = ITEM NAME ] (no spaces) code to show what items you're sending. For skins, use [ skin = SKIN ID NUMBER HERE ] (no spaces).

I know this may sound harsh, but I just want to make one of these where people aren't afraid to send out nice items out of fear of getting a Common Podid in return.
