I know I LOVE open the door threads, but I never have room for the dragons! Therefore, I am starting one without dragons. This is how it works:
1. You list three books. Each book must have a prize in it ("in it" can be interpreted any way you want)
2. No dragon prizes!
3. One, and only one book must contain a familiar
4. Whoever gets the familiar must do the next round.
I'll start.
Book 1 is locked, but sounds hollow. Something rattles inside.
Book 2 has strange green symbols instead of words. They seem to move in the light.
Book 3 seems like a normal science book full of experiments.

The remains of your latest brew are bright blue, which makes absolutely no sense, given what went into it. Ah... science.

the first book is bright red. When you look at it your eyes begin to bleed. It doesn't hurt but your whole body tingles unnaturally
The second book is sealed shut its covered in a pale brown rust that rubs on your fingers when you touch it
The third moves and skitters on 5 spindily legs. The cover is pulsing with a bluish glow and when you open it, thpe thin pages are made of human skin
@DragonWarrior333 as you open it, the room shakes, pressure builds behind your eyes. A wave of pain sweeps over you and your vision runs a dark red. When you open them, blinking way the wet blood you see no book, just a sizzling phosphorus left in the recage

@SilverWinter you take a brick lying in the corner of the room when you finally crack it upend inside it reveals a disgruntled eye staring back at you.

@Goji when you finally catch up to the book, you peel back its cover. Blue runes glow with a pulsing blue light. They rise from the pages and lead to form a familiar friend! It's up to you to continue the game!
