a text-adventure-style interactive story
you're surrounded by dragons, all shapes, all sizes. a sea of colors and patterns - faces you can't quite recognize- but oh the voices - so many voices you can hardly make out any individual one. they're all saying the same thing, some phrase you can't quite decipher but whose message you don't need words to hear in your heart of hearts when it's apparent in their grins, their laughter, the way their bodies twist towards one another and push away playfully and brush wing against wing and snout to snout, fins splayed, every word of their bodies a resonation of the singular concept:

You wake to sunlight streaming into your eyes. The grass below you is soft as a hatchling tundra's first down coat - it tickles against your fins in the gentle breeze. The air is distinctly floral - a heady mixture of a thousand different species so mingled you can't distinguish between them.

But you notice, as you pull yourself up on your haunches and let your bleary eyes slowly focus on what eventually reveals itself to be a small, clear stream, that you don't know where this is.
In fact. you don't remember how you ended up here. Or how to get home.
Or where "home" is.
In fact in fact, you don't remember your name.

how it works
for those unfamiliar
You, readers, are an as-of-yet unknown fae dragon, just having woken up with no clue who you are, where you are, or where you came from. Your goal is to find your clan and get home. How it goes is this:
Participants offer a suggestion on what actions your fae character should take.
I'll respond with a) the character taking that action and the consequences it has
or, rarely, b) a rejection or commentary on why that action is not available (you already tried it, to save you some time on some dead ends, you don't have access to a particular branch of the story yet, etc, e.g. to name a few).
Please don't be offended if I appear not to acknowledge your or anyone's suggestion; if there are several very similar ideas, I'll probably only 'respond' to one to save space and time on the thread. I promise your fae is considering them all!
On that note, definitely feel free to second or repeat suggestions -- if there's several options being put on the table at once, I'll go with the one with the most votes.
Will probably update once a day due to time constraints on my part/ giving people enough time to suggest, but to get started until I find a rhythm I'm just going to update as I can.

I’d look for nearby dragons.
I’d look for nearby dragons.

I'd go upstream.

Of course - at higher ground you'll be able to see more of your surroundings and hopefully you'll come across someone's lair.

As far as you can see, however, it looks like the stream disappears into a very thick, very verdant forest, with enormous trees so dense you can hardly see past the outer perimeter.
Not too far away there seems to be someone sleeping(?) under a much smaller, much closer, and much lonelier tree.

Politely wake up the Dragon and try to make a friend, cuz friends will help you in your journey home.

You are famished, but considering your respective sizes, you think it's likely that you would end up the meal in this case! Anyway, as a discerning fae of a sophisticated palate, you prefer only the most delectable, slimy-yet-satisfying bugs for your meals.

You flutter over to the stranger and reach out an claw to gently prod her awake.

But before you can even touch her tough snapper hide, the stranger's eyes snap open and she bellows
