Attention!! The exiles are no longer being actively bred by breeders of this project! Nonetheless, exile coatls still exist! If you want to promote them, feel free to include exile lore in your Exile coatl's bio!

We also have a Dragon Share page to show off any exiles and exile stories you might have!

Meta-history of this project: Flambebes were originally the only subspecies on FR, and with some brainstorming with some other people, we decided to create another subspecies, resulting in The Exiles!

Cool fact: The Exiles were the first ever subspecies that were intentionally created on FR, and probably the second subspecies to exist!

Welcome all to the Subspecies project!

This is the information post, where I'll be constantly updating the following categories, Breeders, LoreLackies, Benefactors, and Anyone Else(Undecided)

And to present all of you to the Coatl Subspecies project!

Me and a couple of other friends thought it would be cool to create a Coatl Subspecies! We are trying to give some love to the Pale Coatl's (who are generally outcast by their respective species) and create them as their new subspecies. They are known as the exiles!

Exiles will have the following characteristics: Primary Range: Maize-Silver
Secondary Range: Maize-Shadow, Tert: Rose-Shadow

If you have a coatl close to this (ex dark but still grey scale primary, a tert that's off, maybe they're just pale colors such as pink, beige, ivory, banana, seafoam etc (XD I guess pastel coatls fit into that category)) then they can be called HONORARY Exiles. Keep in mind though that doesn't make them TRUE exiles, as I've stated above exiles have a specific color range.

Genes won't be necessary for specifications, although if one intends to gene theirs up, by all means please do! :3

Anyone that has helped with this project will recieve at least one little Exile baby from this project! (breeders will technically get two since they'll be breeding, if not more! XD) It is possible to get more, but I do not want to burden our breeders too much ;)

There will be two Boss Breeders who will be the one who will be reporting to me all the time (a bit easier for me to deal with, than several people trying to ping me at once) and will be your guys' organizer!

This sheet here is for anyone to fill out and keep tabs on (who has unpaired Coatls, who has babies etc)

This tendency towards quietness, produced by their condition as exiles, combined with their refusal to discuss anything relating to the Exiles with outsiders has lent them a mysterious aura, one that in truth they cultivate. In the minds of many dragons, the association between pale coatls and death lends them a mystical quality, which can be emphasised by their mysteriousness. Many clans come to view them as shamanesque figures, going to them for spiritual advice and seeing them as a link between the worlds of the living and the dead.

Lairs:
The Exiles have an odd relationship with other clans of dragons. While most dragons are uncomfortable with Exiles, they are also fascinated by them. Many believe it is good luck to have an Exile in the lair, and many also believe the converse – that turning away an Exile will bring a curse upon any clan that does so. Exiles rarely ask permission to join a clan or even formally introduce themselves, they simply show up one day and start working with the other members of the clan. They never explain why they have chosen to join that particular clan, and it would be considered rude to ask in any case.

The Exiles also have their own lair hidden in the depths of the mist of the Blacksand Annex, which serves as a central hub from which members are free to come and go as they please.

Benefactors: This is your information post!

You guys won't really have a boss to report in to. All you guys have to do, is Donate the appropriate dragons for this project and/or money (Either T or Gems acceptable)

If you want to donate a dragon, just go up to the Breeders ping list, Copy paste and say "I found this dragon you could use for the project!" and post a picture of the dragon, then just send the dragon to which ever breeder says he/she can take it

Reminder to all Benefactors! Do not charge money from the breeders when giving a dragon (except for that 1 gold for the trade)!

If you wish to make a money donation, please ping me, and I'll have a little meeting with our Boss Breeders to see which one of them requires the money for Lair expansions, Nests, and/or buying dragons (Breeders, you can also request money, saying "I need to expand my lair, can anyone help?" (don't forget to ping us!) and benefactors can get right on the job!)

Also, donating seafood to the breeders ^^

I have a Midnight/Black/Beige boy, but his mate has sand tert so they wouldn't give you the tert colors you need :( Also, voting for Mors as the sub-breed name.

I don't have any relevant dragons or a lot of spare money but it sounds like a really cool project. What kind of writing would a lore-scribe do? I would be interested if i knew more about it, but it seems so vague at the moment, could you elaborate?

Also, what influenced the choice to use dark secondary and tertiary colour? Just curious.

Edit: I actually have a windclaw male who is quite close to the colour range, so I may be able to breed a relevant coalt from him, I'll either donate or keep breeding if I manage.
