Dragon after dragon fell, teeth colliding with claws and claws locking in an intense fight. The air smelt of sulfur and blood as fire lit the darkening sky. I had always knew of humans and their wars but this, THIS, was beyond my own comprehension. My mind became cluttered and thick as a strange instinct took me over. A large black guardian dragon with those piercing pink eyes strode towards me, his maw dripping blood from another of my flight. Growling as he drew near there was nothing else I could do except slam my body against him, claws tearing at his underbelly. His blood poured out, eyes beginning to cloud over as death drug him under. My own body screamed against the chaos, letting out a roar that could shatter the toughest glass. The fire against my wings flashed and flickered in response to my anger and confusion. I was the Goddess of Chaos but this, this terrified me beyond everything I am and was. The battle seemed hopeless, lost within a blanket of confusion, blood, and tears. That was until they sent him, the one god we kept under wraps, the one god we dare not set lose upon the world. A gasp caught in my throat until I saw the rest of the clan behind him, their eyes glittering in the darkness. He took one look at me and I froze in fear, his amber eyes looking through me before fading into the darkness, a specialty of his. The others did not trust me, this I knew, but now was the time to prove my worth to the clan and the others. Locked up in the cave and under the Earth, I paced day after day, the only scent was the sulfur burning of my gyre and the only sound was the gentle tapping of water on the rock walls. Being the God of the Underworld, I basked in this confinement, my body greatly taking sustenance as it was given and my mind working in over time. Did I resent them? No, I resented my brother Zeus, the one who made the others mistrust me. Persephone talked to me regularly through my mind and I missed her endlessly. I could hear the sounds of the clan preparing for battle and she told me she loved me as she left with the others. I slammed myself against the wall to follow but it was no use. All I could hope for was that my Queen would be fully equipped for something of this caliber. That was when Gaia opened the darkness and set my free, my wings wasting no time into taking me to the Bay. I arrived and the battle quickened my blood as I watched Eris for a few seconds, her mind already alight with adrenaline. Across the Bay, I saw the other part of my soul and I wasted no time in vanishing into the shadows and making my way to her. I was so close SO CLOSE and then he ripped into her, a large male Imperial with shimmering blue scales. I felt her life-force dissipate and pass on like a shot to my heart. I felt her with me then, her essence swirling around me like a cool breeze. It sent a chill through my ancient soul and then I channeled it into an anger I couldn't control. I took down dragon after dragon, trying desperately to get to her body even though she was no longer there within it. I finally got there and I stood over her, snarling a challenge to whoever wanted to fight me. I dared them, my ancient essence swirling in hues of red around me and my tears turning to steam as they hit the air. A cascade of runes swirled around the ground beneath me, taking her body into the Earth and turning the very rocks I stood on to molten lava. Anger swirled into madness and then to chaos as the lava took down one Arcane dragon after another, our flight winning the battle thus far. (hows this guys? xD I'm sorry it's kind of sad.)

Diary Entry 1 - Eris

((Here we are, rescueeeee~! I couldn't get it done before I needed to go to bed last night, so here it is now @paintminion! Please forgive the blatant taking over of Siltaria, I hope I didn't mangle her too badly! Holy carp, this got long. Incoming text wall o' DOOM!)) Later that day, there came another quiet sound from the door. It wasn't like before though; instead of a smooth and clean opening, there came the sound of a faint scratching. A tickity-tack against wood and metal. Remembering what the Great Crumpet had said earlier, about wars and mind controlling spells, Siltaria rose to her feet from the window seat. She would not face this sitting down. Finally, there came a faint click from the door, and it swung open a quarter of the way on silent hinges. Rather then a large pink baked-good or some equally strange Dragon coming though the portal, a tiny dark shadow flitted into the room, pushing the door mostly closed behind it as it came. Rearing back, thoughts of nefarious magics and, Windsinger forbid, the Shade, rushing through her head, Siltaria was prepared for the worst! But instead, the little shadow rose up, and revealed itself to be a simple Fae, darkly clothed and coloured, with fire on her wings... And bright pink Arcane eyes. "Dear Lady Dancer, would you be the one known as Siltaria?" The soft voice that filtered past the birdskull mask did not seem threatening, but this Fae was Arcane. And Fae were notoriously gifted with magic. Was she here to do what the Great Crumpet could not? "I... I am. What do you want?" She skittered closer, and Siltaria had to stop herself from stepping back. "Do not fear, dear Lady. I am called Laeira. I am here to help you escape." At those words, Siltaria felt a rush of relief, because getting out from here and back home was the only thing she truly wanted right then, but she held herself wary. This was almost too good to be true, especially coming from one of them. It could be a trick! Puffing herself up indignantly, ready to tell this little trickster exactly what she thought of her and her games, she was beaten to the punch by Laeira fluttering up suddenly to hover in front of her face. "A Mirror by the name of Magus has been raising a ruckus looking for you. We are here to see you home, dear Lady. Wind leaves no Dragon behind." And the relief was trickling back. "Magus? Is.. Is he here?" Laeira shook her head. "No. He would have been more a hindrance. Something specialized was needed here. The ability to blend in." She waved a claw up to her bright eyes. "We were called in specifically to help you, dear Lady." "We?" "Yes, we. A small team. But time is running short, and we need to move. Hold still a moment." The little Fae waved her claws through the air, making vague gestures as she muttered something under her breath. Siltaria felt a strange sensation, like a blanket of something was falling over her body. A moment later, the feeling settled, an extra skin coating her whole body. "What did you do-" She started, lifting her arm, but stopped short as she caught sight of her skin. She was... PINK. No, not even. Magenta. She couldn't see it, but she could hear the smile in Laeira's next words. "Just a glamour, nothing more. Your eyes are a similar shade now as well. Your wings remain the same though. Purple goes well with pink on an Arcane Dragon." Flitting around, the small Fae touched down on Siltaria's shoulder and settled there. "Now, the door is still open. Just walk on through. The guards are bedazzled. They won't even notice you walking by. Make sure to close the door behind you, it will lock on it's own again." Deciding to trust in the little Fae, she sounded legitimate AND she had known something of home too, Siltaria followed her instructions as closely as she could. Indeed, when she pushed open the door and stepped through, the Snapper and Pearlcatcher on the other side didn't even twitch. Closing the door, hearing it click, she then started walking down the hall as calmly as she could manage. Laeira leaned up to whisper quietly into her ear as she walked. "Keep following this hall until the spiral staircase on the right. Go past it. Through the door on the left. Take the lift down. Go left... then right... then left again. Calmly now. Don't run or fly quite yet, just keep walking. Good, keep going down here now, until you get to the quad." She lost herself in the instructions, putting all her faith into this Arcane-Not-Arcane Fae. A moment later, they emerged out into an open area, the quad she had talked about. Siltaria froze. It was near full of Dragons! All milling about, in groups and pairs, talking heatedly or doing some strange thing or another. "What now, what do I do now?" She whispered, almost frantically. But there came no answer, and she realized that the weight on her shoulder was gone. Trying not to let her rising panic show, Siltaria looked around her quickly, but only confirmed what she feared. The Fae was gone without a trace. At least she was still pink. Swallowing thickly, trying to decide what to do now, she was distracted by the noise of a string instrument, strumming hard, coming from her right. Looking over, along with almost every other Dragon in the vicinity, she saw a big, neon-green Guardian was the source of the noise. "Come now, my fellows!" He bellowed, running his claws across the strings of his lute once more. "For many months, we have known only friendship with the Wind that blows across the Bay! Our Flights sing of camaraderie! So large, so vast, we are a pair like no other! We share knowledge and ideas! Information and stories! Surely we can look past small scuffles and know that together we are better than we are against!" he twanged again. His 'musically aided' pleas evoked various reactions; there were some angry shouts and mutterings, "They started it!" and "It's STARwind, for Arcanist's sake!"; there were some agreements, great and small, "My experiment wouldn't have succeeded without their help!" and "I need to talk to my beta reader again!". In mass, the whole quad began to undulate, as the Dragons all fell into debates about the right or wrongness of this war. Caught in the throngs, there wasn't much Siltaria could do but try to stay standing upright. When a claw suddenly gripped her forearm, she almost jumped right out of her skin. She looked over to see a fully armoured, pink-eyed Mirror, with electricity running across her hide. Siltaria's stomach dropped. Had she been found out? "All these cowardly bookies, nearly makes you ssssssick to your ssstomache, doesn't it Sssssister? They've forgotten how to use their gifts in a good FIGHT." She said, looking at the surrounding Dragons with a disgusted look on her face. The ones pressing right close to them quickly found the space to take a step away. As the Mirror swung her head around to face Siltaria again, one of her four eyes flickered in a quick wink. "What ssssay we leave these Hatchlingssss to listen to their sssweet ssssongs, and go get some REAL work done, eh?" Siltaria found herself nodding in quiet affirmation, and then the Mirror was adeptly leading her out through the throngs. Dragons parted willingly to let the intimidating Mirror pass, and none questioned their intent. They left the quad without any trouble, and one archway later, were leaving the Observatory proper behind them. "I have everything ssset up for our experiment, Ssssister. Follow me." She leapt forward, flapping her wings to skim quickly overland, and Siltaria couldn't do much more then follow. How she wanted to just spread her wings wide and set her heading for home, but they were still in the heart of Arcane territory. She would never get away be herself. She just had to hope this crazy plan had a good ending. Ten minutes later, they landed on a cliff with a bunch of equipment collected about. The Mirror shook herself in an irritated fashion, scratching at her neck, and started to removed the bits and pieces or armour as she got closer to the equipment; she tucked each piece away into the satchel bags at her hips as she went. Those bags must be much bigger on the inside if they were able to hold so many large parts. "Come come, quickly. Homeward bound, and all that." The inflection with which the Mirror spoke had changed, Siltaria noted. She sounded much less Coatl like, but more brisk. "This is a sweet little thing whipped up by some Lightning friends. It'll zap us clear across the continent in one go. Much easier then trying to fly the whole way. Less likely to be caught too. What with the glamour starting to fall away already." Startled, Siltaria looked down at her hand again. Indeed, she could see pieces of her normal fair blue cracking through the bright pink. "What do I need to do?" She asked. The Mirror gestured to a circle set on the ground as she finished pulling on a new set of gloves. Siltaria realized that the colours of the Mirror were cracking away as well. Underneath was revealed a totally different Dragon, white and orange with a beautiful design painted across her back and forewings. "Up in the circle, I give the go, and we are gone in a shot. One last bit of trust, good Lady, and you will be home post haste." What did she have to lose? Everything seemed to have gone well so far, even if she wasn't quite sure of half of what was happening. "Alright." And so, they stepped up together, fitting in a small space just barely, before the Mirror pushed a button on a device she held. There was a tugging sensation between her shoulder blades, and then she felt a tingle as she went suddenly light blind. She heard a muffled BOOM, but it felt as if it was coming from behind her, far away and getting further. She felt electrified. For a moment, she was scared that maybe the Lightning tech had backfired, that maybe they were dead already and didn't even know it, but then she felt solid ground under her feet again, and she stumbled, nearly falling right on her face. She heard a muffled thump beside her, and some rather colourful cursing, but that didn't matter. She breathed in a great lungful of air; it smelled of grasses and fresh air, tasted of wind and freedom. It was home. It took a moment for her vision to return, but when it did, she was happy to confirm what that breath had told her. All around were the pale green grasses of her homeland, clusters of reeds growing around the peaceful steppes, the Cloudsong flying the high breezes to the east. The Mirror pulled herself up to her feet beside her, giving a full-bodied shake. "Not as smooth a landing as I'd like, but it gets the job done." She grinned up at the Sky Dancer. "We're on the northern boundary between the Steppes and the Ascent. Best out of the way spot to set up the return point. You should be able to find your way to your Clan from here, I assume?" Siltaria ruffled her feathers, surprised that this seemed to be the end. "I... Yes, I can. But, you can't just leave now, I don't even know your name! And the others... Laeira, that Fae, and that Guardian, he was a distraction wasn't he? I must do something for you, however can I repay your help?" She did not want to just... Part ways with nothing done! The Mirror smiled softly once more, putting a claw on her forearm again. "We do not do what we do for reward, good Lady. We are a breeze in the reeds, the flash that is unseen, the steppers in silence. In fact, we were never even here, so there is nothing to repay." Somehow, Siltaria understood, though she didn't want too. She wanted to welcome her rescuers to the Lair, to celebrate their efforts and give thanks for what they had done. But she could see, even now, that the Mirror was shying away, all to obviously wanting to silently disappear just as the Fae before her had done. As much as it bothered her, whoever these Dragons were, they didn't want their work to be made known. Turning her face to the wind, she said, "So none of this even happened, is that so?" She was answered by silence, and when she looked over her shoulder to where she'd last seen the Mirror, she was gone. Siltaria sighed. Well, that was just dandy, wasn't it? She supposed she would have to try and think of some sort of explanation as to how she's gotten away from her captors by herself now, didn't she?
((Here we are, rescueeeee~! I couldn't get it done before I needed to go to bed last night, so here it is now @paintminion! Please forgive the blatant taking over of Siltaria, I hope I didn't mangle her too badly!

What did she have to lose? Everything seemed to have gone well so far, even if she wasn't quite sure of half of what was happening. "Alright."

And so, they stepped up together, fitting in a small space just barely, before the Mirror pushed a button on a device she held.

You should be able to find your way to your Clan from here, I assume?"

Siltaria ruffled her feathers, surprised that this seemed to be the end. "I...

In fact, we were never even here, so there is nothing to repay."

Somehow, Siltaria understood, though she didn't want too.

Alighting on the nose of her Guardian, she relayed the news of what was happening in the Bay. "There is a big fight going on, Arcane dragons and Wind dragons are all fighting," she said, frantically. "The pinkies are saying that one of their dragons was kidnapped by the Windies, and the Windies are saying that they saved the Arcane dragon." Pinky grunted, lifting his head and nearly throwing the little Fae off his face. "Then who are we fighting?" he growled, looking at the fighting. Since the flight from the plague in Ice, he had itched for a good fight. The last one fight had been weeks ago, taking the last Pearlcatcher from them. "If we're fighting the Windies, then we're on the wrong part of the flows." "This will be one for the history books." Dreamwalker twitched his tail, lifting his nose to the sky. "The winds call. The rest of the clan followed, and they flew over the border to join the conflict, at the aid of the Wind flight.
