Hello Flight rising Community! I am a youtuber and was planning on making a video covering how Flight Rising users can find that perfect niche. Stories and suggestions on how to find that sweet spot for dragon breeding is just what I'm looking for! Some questions to take into mind when contributing:

How did I choose my breed/breeds?

Do I have a theme?

What is my color scheme?

What are the markings I breed for?

Do I have a defined niche?

And most importantly, how did you come about all these decisions!

I don't have a theme! I just get dragons I like and sometimes they make babies that other people like, and sometimes they don't.

I don't really breed other than for fodder. I like the weird productive monotony of the coli and I enjoy selling my loot on the AH. Making my dragons into characters has kept me around long after breeding and collecting dragons became boring to me. My lair theme is dragons I like. I enjoy treasure primaries and gem secondaries, usually with clashing tertiaries + an accent to tie the tertiary into the dragon as a whole. I like collecting familiars. I like buying art of my dragons. Ridgebacks are my fav breed because they're the silliest. I like warm, saturated colors.

I feel like finding your niche is about more than breeding. You have to find the playstyle that is most enjoyable for you and just go with that. Don't feel like you have to be doing what's popular to do on FR at the moment. Find your small portion of joy on the site and have fun. Otherwise you'll spoil it for yourself.

Is this personal or just for breeders that sell dragons?

Is the niche just is breeding patters or what our niche is in FR like Coli, breeding , fairground, accent making and so on ?

@Heeroku You can interpret it both ways! The general idea is just how you as a player feel like they fit into Flight rising. While the more breeder specific way is addressed with the questions I provided.

Well...late december/early january there was a thing going around called flowerbombing. Nature was doing this and I thought it was so wonderful I ran to Ice and made up our version of it. Since then I find so many reasons to gift people. It's my favourite thing to do. Then I just noticed one day that I was hoarding skydancers and boom! Crazy skydancer lady. I also really liked coli in harpy's roost but since that was messed with I don't like it as much. But, let's try to answer these questions shall we?

How did I choose my breed/breeds?
It was an accident. I just suddenly had so many and was getting rid of anything that wasn't a skydancer. I have few exceptions, and even changed my progen into one.

Do I have a theme?
I have a naming theme, but I don't keep to it strictly. I use botanical names for all my dragons.

What is my color scheme?
Usually cool colors.

What are the markings I breed for?
Crystal, facet, glimmer, and vipera mostly.

Do I have a defined niche?
I am a gifter. I like gifting people things, it's what I do. I even booted up a gifting effort in Ice.

And most importantly, how did you come about all these decisions!
By accident, the fact I love plants, I always tend to gravitate towards cool colors, they are shiny and pretty, and I was random gifted by Nature.

I am a personal breeder but my hatchlings do get interest I tend to favor XYZ and have really tried to pair them nicely .

I like doing XYZ with one grey or neutral tone in it like white ,brown or black especially white underbelly and black Okapis they just look good.

I like natural so I tend to favor
Primaries
bar ,poison ,cherub and tiger

Secondaries
Shimmer, peregrine, Daub and sometimes stripes

Terts
Okapi, underbelly , gembond and spines

And like I said I breed for myself so large ranges (variety of hatchlings to keep) and favored genes wich helps with lore and not having to buy all my dragons.

I make most of my money through coli , I sell everything from food to eggs that drop from there This became my thing because it dose not take any real though so I can do it while in class or watching TV and it gives me multiple forms of income. These income come in intant sells like common coli stones and small chest , long time sells like familiars and food and big sales like eggs /apparel and skins.

Well breeds kind of chose me , I have a relativity rare lair as it is all skydancers it happened kind of by accident that all but like 7 of my dragons were skydancers so I breed changed the rest. This simplifies everything for me and makes me happy.
I became a relatively fast collected of retired items as I have an investment mind set and also things that keep value like skins, if I buy them there is no way they will ever go down.
Lore is my focus when it comes to dragons not rarity or cost , my 5 digit is just as important to my 1 month old .

@Heeroku This is probably going to sound really naive, but can you explain XYZ please?

@timelessDream sorry it is color pattern XXY or XYX or YXX would have 2 of the same colors , XXX is a tipple all the same colors each letter represents that area so an XXY is a dragon with the same primary and secondary color but a diffrent color tert ..
