I've been wanting to switch flights for a while and these are the three that I've narrowed it down to.
If you belong to any of these flights could you please describe the community and what not, essentially convince me to join. :)

The water flight is really fun! We have a tight-knit community and a decently paced forum. Its not fast by any means but it has a reasonable amount of posts a day thats easy to keep up with.
We have our own in-flight newspaper! Every day the Message in a Bottle comes out with daily ah prices and weekly community dragon contests and polls as well as resource links!
If you want your own little group inside the flight we have lots of sub communities like the Rainbow Fish (lgbt), Blue Fish (mental illness), and Jelly Fish (trans/nb)! Theres a little bit of something for everyone in water.
We definitely share our problems with the community, everyone is helpful and supportive. Sometimes a generous collector will share some of their extra booty with us B)

FallingArtist You're the first person I've ever seen ask about Water.
The thing about Water is that
we don't exist it's all a lie it's a very small flight, the third smallest I believe? after Fire and Earth, so the forums are slow-moving and cozy. Not sure how the community compares to others, I think we're known for being laidback. We've got a lot of great in-flight services, though iirc management is moving around a bit a lot and I'm not entirely sure what's all here? But there's a food bank, familiar bank, apparel, battlestones, etc. I think the lair expansion funding bank is still in progress, but this is definitely a thing we're doing. And some very nice threads and support groups for people suffering depression and other mental illnesses, in general I see a lot of vent/irl help threads getting put out there and answered quickly. And in-game help too, of course.
We're not a competitive Dom flight (mostly see profit/second-place pushes, especially festival weeks), but we're re-organizing, I think. I'm more hyped about the merc group we got going last week than conquesting, but I don't know about you.
And that's... all? We have a great ocean-y aesthetic, whether you like relaxing at the beach or pirates or deep-sea creatures or anything in between. All of the water puns. The deep blue eyes that go with a lot of things but not necessarily everything. And mystery.

Light is a great place to be if you want to be super involved with the community, have ideas you want to share, ways you want to help out, or just want to get into a friendly and welcoming conversation, discussion, or whatnot. The forums are always very active and people there post about everything, from sharing love of fandragons, to gene project ideas, to asking for advice on apparel or breeding projects... Then there's always tons of charity organizations to help newbies or just anyone find dream dragons or afford lair expansions, how to get a Coli team going, leveler loaning and battle stone assistance... You'll be hard pressed to join Light flight and NOT find someone trying their best to help out, and being super happy to do so at the same time. :) We're a giant family and everyone is treated with the same amount of love and respect.
We also like glitter. And monies. And Glittermom. And puns. And more monies
of which we have none due to LvP OTL. But mostly we like each other. c:

We don't go for dominance too often, but when we do, we go big or go home. It really brings the community together in a special way, and any help at all is valued and appreciated :D But if dominance isn't your thing, there's no pressure at all to participate.

I find water amazing. I have only good things to say about the flight. The inflight food bank is great when you don't remember to gather food, Message in a bottle is a great newspaper that can be really helpful. Though Water is small, I still think that the people within the flight are the most agreeable. I find that being within the water flight was the best choice I have made on this site.

Water is a very friendly and nice community. There are many subcommunities (LGBT, autistic, writing, reading, skype chat, ect) within water so you'll definitely find something you like. We're also pretty laid back compared to other flights. Dom is relatively organized, though I'm pretty sure the process is being minorly revised right now. We've also got a variety of banks for food, familiars, and battle stones. We've also got the daily message in a bottle which gives you all the news you need to know about water flight and the status of FR that day.
Can't tell you anything about light or nature firsthand, however there is a flight guide
