I'm sure some of you have tried this before, but since I didn't see a thread around, I thought it might make for an interesting post: Here on FR, to get specific colours in BBCode you use [b]hex colour codes[/b], which are things like #ff4000 or #3342B4. There's lots of different ones - and as the term 'hex' suggests, they are all six characters long. Since we're not over 999,999 users yet, that means that [i]we all have unique colours that can be assigned to our ID numbers![/i] How cool is that? [center]------------[b]How To Get Your User ID[/b]------------[/center] Your user ID is a unique number, assigned to you when you first register. It's the number you see in the URL bar when you go to your personal lair page (the first page with all your dragons on it). For instance, when I go to my lair, I see this as the URL: [code]http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&id=45393[/code] The number at the end - [b]45393[/b] - is my user ID! [center]------------[b]How To Get Your Hex Colour Code[/b]------------[/center] This is super-duper complicated, requiring great computer mastery, and - who am I kidding? Type "hex colour" into Google, followed by your ID number, and there you have it; that's your colour. If you want to show everyone your colour as coloured text here on Flight Rising, you can use this code: [code][color=#THEHEXCODENUMBER]"Put the thing you want to say here!"[/color][/code] Note that if your ID number is less than six digits, you will have to deal with letters in front of or after your ID number - meaning that there will be more than one colour with your ID number in it. If you like randomness, I'd recommend calling the first colour that comes up your FR ID colour. EDIT: Aaaand if you don't like cool colours, I'd definitely recommend using a letter in front of the number - for instance, [color=#D18535][b]#D18535[/b][/color] instead of [color=#018535][b]#018535[/b][/color]. [center]-----------[/center] So yep, that's everything. Feel free to post whatever colour you got, I guess! For instance, the first colour I found that matched my FR ID (45393) was [color=#B45393][b]#B45393[/b][/color]. Pretty close for a lair that loves magenta! I might even be able to get a dragon in this colour, thanks to Stained and the expanded wheel. (Or heck - I think Wine as a colour is pretty close to this-?) [b]EDIT:[/b] You can also get [i]names[/i] for your colours! Enter your hex code [url=http://chir.ag/projects/name-that-color/#B45393]here[/url], and get a name. Mine is Tapestry, apparently! So mine is called Strong Phthalo Blue. Fitting for my Water flight Coral Reef lair. =D I just realized how many possibilities there are though. I used #011793.

But there is also #11793b. Which is a shade of green.
And there are 2 more that are almost identical. This one with e instead of b. #11793e
And this one has f instead of b. #11793f

And then there is #b11793. Which is a shade of pinkish purple.
And very similar is #e11793
And another very similar is #f11793

I do like the first one I got best. =D

Since I have less than 6 digits, this lovely Mulberry-ish colour was the first to pop up!

Hm I wonder what my color is..Oo it's a light green.
