*Ages ago I saw this newbie user, who had a fully gened XXY SD progen, 2 days old at the time, with some elemental acolights and like 4 gen1s. I'm pretty sure I spotted some festival apparel. I was too new myself to understand what exactly was going on. Bugs me to this day.
*Once, I made a thread saying how I'd take very good care of a sprite if I ever owned one, and a user sent me a Water Sprite. It was the best gift of my life, and that sprite now has a name and lore. Tbh I love her more than the Nature Sprite I earned myself by making art.
*I once saddened an entire thread by pointing out how festival embers looked like dead fire eggs.
*Sometimes mods comment on my threads just to talk and I feel like a god.
*Sometimes I lurk on strangers' lairs and see a pretty dragon so I lie and say that it was on the front page so it seems less weird to just compliment them.

Also thank! I was practically a newbie when I made my little sprite post and now I have 2, so I'm not getting away with getting a sprite as a gift ever again XD That is a little sad though!

* Completely random headcanon that hasn't made it into my lore yet- Circuit tert is actually a special tattoo that engineers get, given them by a guild of engineers to mark the completion of their training and apprenticeship. All the dragons in my lair with Circuit are engineers. I now think "cool, an engineer!" every time I see someone else's dragon with Circuit. Woops.

I've gotten two Plague eggs from digging - one, I think, during Riot of Rot 2015 and one some other time, but it was the first time I'd gotten two of the same egg. I have gotten a Light egg and an Earth egg, the latter of which I hatched into a rather hideous hatchling that I ended up selling. (It was Rust/Leaf/Chocolate.)
Back when I first started playing in 2014, I ended up hatching one of my early nests on Christmas. Almost two years later, one of those Christmas babies hatched a nest that I didn't realize would get hatched on St. Patrick's Day. Guess holiday birthdays run in the family.
In real life, I create and sell art at comic conventions, and starting in January 2016 I started taking on-the-spot commissions. I made a sign with some examples and used a picture of the Arcanist for my color and ink example.
I have had a number of people at the cons I went to recognize that it was the Arcanist, and I even had a woman commission me bookmarks of her dragons and a picture of the Lightweaver. I never got her username, so I posted on the FR Discussion that I was at a con and commissioned an FR user's progen, posting the name of the con and the progen, and after I found her, she returned to the con the next day (it was a 3-day con) and her friend said, "There was a little detective work going on, wasn't there?"
After the sign with the Arcanist on it wore out, I had to make a new one, so I put the Windsinger instead, since by that time I had moved to the Wind flight. And still people come up to me and recognize it as the Windsinger, and we have wonderful conversations about FR happenings.
Another story involving real life and FR mixing was when I had volunteered to do an interview for a book about raising children on the autism spectrum. Since I was a successful adult on the autism spectrum, and I had heard about this opportunity through my support group, I had a phone interview with the co-author of the book, who ended up asking me about web-based video games (as there was to be a chapter on such in the book) and I mentioned Flight Rising as a good way to relax and create a routine.
Fast forward some months later and I see a post on General Discussion where the poster had read the book and had noticed the reference to Flight Rising. I was a bit confused for a second before remembering that yes, I did tell the author that I played the game, and posted on the thread saying that I was the one who had said that, since the poster was asking where that mysterious FR player/book contributor was.

I once received an XXX White imperial as a gift, and I bought an XXX White nocturne to be her breeding partner. These two dragons were gotten from two completely dfferent users, and yet when I tried to breed them, I found that they were related! (Something about their great-grandparents being siblings.)
When I started off in FR, I bought a Tundra and named her Crimson. (I still have her now) and just a couple months ago, I wanted a Deadpool fandragon and I bought another random tundra off the AH. turns out he looked exactly the same as Crimson and had the same parents!

When I first joined FR, I IMMEDIATELY got a water egg after scavenging. I didn't think anything of it and immediately hatched it, found that it was a tundra, was upset and exalted it.
I then went to AH and found that eggs could earn you a pretty penny.
I'm still kicking myself over it to this day and now I'm afraid of hatching my light egg in my hoard vault.
I don't want to sell it either so it's just sitting there now lmao
