I am planning on switching flights within the next few days, and I can't decide between wind and light. Can anyone who is in one of those flights try to convince me to join one of them.

I am planning on switching flights within the next few days, and I can't decide between wind and light. Can anyone who is in one of those flights try to convince me to join one of them.
Alright! I'm not really going to try to "convince" you or anything (because that would be only telling the perks of a flight when I feel you should be aware of the downsides as well in case they grate on you) so I'll just tell you what I know about my flight Wind c: (actually I'm super tired at the moment so I'm just going to copy and paste one of my previous responses to a question like this and tweak it a bit, I hope you don't mind me being lazy).
The overall environment is really chill and laid back, and so are the members here. Our flight is also very lively, people say there's always a party going on somewhere. We're also extremely friendly, I've never met a mean Wind member before. I haven't checked the forums much but I do know they're very fast moving, so if you like to be social, you may like that. Unfortunately, because it's a large flight and the forums move fast, you might not always get your voice heard for long unless you're a frequent poster :< Also, corgis.
Do you like Dominance? We haven't exactly got the best Dom reputation, since we're not as competitive as flights like Plague or Light, we're at a disadvantage because we're one of the largest flights, and we don't push too often. I haven't been on Flight Rising for long, so I can't tell you how good we are when we're pushing, though I've looked in our dominance history and it seems like we can fare fine. We do have a lot of Dominance programs, but if you're really into Dom, you'll probably want to switch to Light, they're excellent at Dom! Speaking of programs, we have a lot in general! Once again, I can't name them all, though it includes a food donation center and an aforementioned organized Dominance center.
Wind also has the largest population of artists on this site, so if you like to hang around the Creative Corner forum or do artwork yourself, you can find many people with similar interest! I'd say the overall aesthetic is extremely calming, since you know, soft, lovely breezes and all plus bamboo. Our eye color is pale green, so it depends on your preference whether that's something that you want all of your future hatchlings to share. Personally, I find the eyes to rarely clash surprisingly, except occasionally on Spirals and Fae hatchlings.
So that pretty much sums up what I know about Wind. I hope you enjoy whichever flight you'll eventually go to! Cheers!

Light has lots of nice people who like to dom. A lot. Very well organized about it also. If you like dom discounts, come to the light side! We've got slack chat which can be more active than the forums. And we've got lots of glitter to shower you with.

I have been in both, and I can tell you that both are equally amazing in their own ways! but it depends on what you're looking for.
Light pushes for dominance more frequently and is a very organized flight, the community is very warm and sweet, everybody works together and it definitvely go all out with everything we do!
Wind pushes less, but has more battles overall and even though you don't see them a lot in the top of the dom board they sure go all out as well during their battles! But most important, wind is the friendliest community I've seen, they're very adorable! very active too in the chats and very fun in general.
So it depends on what you like more, both are EXCELLENT FLIGHTS so you won't go wrong with either, so good luck figuring out!

I've been in both (started in Light, moved to Wind) and from experience it really depends on what kind of FR player you are.
Light is famous for being a dom powerhouse. And from my visits to the forums during my time in the flight, there wasn't much beyond dom and dom preparation for flight activities. Light would be more of the flight for you if you focus more on money-making or profit-driving than, say, art. Light's forums are also slower as it's a smaller flight.
Wind is the artsy flight, though my experience with the Wind art community has been rather lackluster to say the least. I won't share all the details, but it's basically the largest art community on the Wind flight is the least organized. Still, about a third or so of their forums is dedicated to creativity, be it lore-writing or art or whatever, more than Light's. Wind is one of the faster forums due to the flight's size. So Wind is more the flight for laid-back, casual players.
If it's aesthetics you want, both flights have more calming, gentle aesthetics with emphasis on pastel colors and historical architecture (Wind's being Asian-influenced, Light's being Greek-Roman influence). Wind is also, lore-wise, one of the more "peaceful" flights, being a big plateau with colorful kites and gentle breezes (okay, maybe not the Twisting Crescendo) while the Light flight is basically built on the ruins of the Second Age civilization and it has a haunted city full of ancient spectres. The Light flight is probably the most philosophical flight, and likely the one more in pursuit of knowledge than Arcane, if you want to do something with that for your lore.
