Coatls are named after Quetzalcoatl, who shares the first part of his name with the quetzal bird. Coatles also have feathered wings and take inspiration from both, therefore...

How the wings look when spread out also matches, though is a little exaggerated on the curve (because it portrays motion better and the wings on all the other breeds curve the same way, so drawing them like this maintains artistic continuity).

It doesn't
I've decided that in the continuity of the site, coatls cannot fold their wings
Why?
Simple
Look at wing apparel
Linen Wing Wraps follow around the arm (Such as on the imp)

On a Coatl, they bunch up on the shoulder then just hang loose

Filigree Wing Guards cover the "Hands" (Where the main of the wing sprouts and where the fingers on other dragons would sprout) and shoulders

Coatls???

Their wings are so wonky and are the worst nightmare for me, as someone who likes to draw coatls. So I took it upon myself to try and make slightly more accurate looking wings (Ignore the fact that I botched the rest of the design too :v)

They look like this.

I always assumed they can just rotate their wing joints- kinda like when someone can bend their wrist/fingers backwards.

I honestly think they fold normally. Coatls are the only dragons with actual bird wings instead of bat wings, so of course apparel that goes on the wings will be a little different.
For those of you that may not know, birds do have 'hands,' but they look radically different from human hands and bat 'hands.'
Observe.

So yes, they have hands in a sense, but they aren't really like ours or bat's at all.
My headcanon is that Coatl wings are actually bigger than they appear in the art, and have more definition like a real bird.
But at the end of the day, we all have our opinions :>
