If you want to sell them I'd say do it know if prices are high. Since the introduction of the festival crates, the items now have dropped in value--besides the items from 2014.

As with all festival apparel, the price will increase over time. However, the introduction of JoxBox means the peak price will be lowered (it will go up when festivals aren't in season, for those who are impatient).
However, if you plan to leave the site in the future, it would be a good idea to save them so you can sell them then. A lot of the time, people offer to take FR currency in exchange for something on another site, or you can buy artwork from the many artists who play FR.
Personally, I don't get my profits from long term things like this (though I tell myself I do...), I just buy them because they look cool.

Yeah, I'd sell while you can, it's pretty weird that this one festival had the price rise so quickly while the only other thing that comes close is the Trickster's cards and it took months for it to get valuable. As people realize it's good money it'll probably lower over the course of the week.

I'm going to keep my carapace arms, but I have a brightshine item from earlier this year that I'm going to sell once the prices get high.
I say that you should sell these festival items once they become highly in demand.
(And as a note- Spirits may be worth something once all of them are retired)
