So I’m not too fond of my dragon Pontmercy’s color. I’m thinking of scattering him, but I don’t know if I want to drop that much gems on scatter scrolls.
What are your experiences with scatttering? Was it fun, did it take a while to get the colors you wanted?

I have scattered three dragons so far. One was my random progen.
A five digit and a six digit.
Personally, if the dragon can be replaced by another with better colours, replace it.
If it is a gen one or an old dragon that means something, scattering can be fun and addicting.

My experience is that you should never assume to get great colors on the first, second, or even third scatter. I used three scrolls on my progen Toxen and considered myself super lucky when I got the colors she has now. I have another dragon that took me eight scatters to get anything I wanted.
Be prepared to spend a lot of time (and gems) on getting colors that you want. Maybe pick out a skin that you like for that dragon while you're in-between scatters.

I'm thinking of scattering a dragon too, but it's a Naomi Gen 4
I'm hoping to either get a nicer combo or white tert (for reasons)

i've gotten quite a few good results from scattering but also many bad ones. honestly, it really just comes down to if you don't want to replace the dragon and if you have enough money to scatter until you get colors you like. but it's pretty fun, tbh! i think Pontmercy looks fine now, though c:

I have never used a scatter before, since I don't ever have enough gems. I don't like my custom progen's colors that much but she has the same secondary as my random... so she will probably stay as she is for now.

I scattered one dragon before the expansion and got an XYX, but it took several scrolls. I want to say 3 or 4? And that was with only 67 colors. With the amount of colors now, there's no telling how long.

It can be a bit hit and miss but it's fun
One of my old dergins took 17 scatters(post new color wheel) before I got him xyx. My random progen maybe had 2-5? Something like that and ended up as sky/white/plat and I'm happy with her.

I only scatter G1s who have terrible combos I can't bear to look at, not just one bad colour. And things either go really good, or really bad. There is no middle ground.

Scattering is fun, but it can eat up a TON of gems if you're looking for something specific. But if you're just scattering for something you like, it might not be that bad if you like a lot of colors/ranges. Overall though, if you're willing to spend the money for it, it's very exciting.
Looking at them, I think all of my scatter projects have been birthday dragons X).
Zappy - Took about... 13 tries I think? It was a while ago so I don't remember how much I dropped on her, but it wasn't as much as the others. I wasn't aiming for anything specific, just something I liked.
Cod - I needed a White/Navy dragon, and I eventually got one (plus a good tertiary color :D). I think she took... I think it was about $100 worth of scatters. She ate up most of my birthday money.
Can't think of a good name - I wasn't super specific, but I wanted a double for this one. Eventually landed with Cornflower/Cornflower/White. I lost track of how much I spent on this one. I think it was less than Cod but much more than Zappy.
Another Unnamed - I've lost track, but it's been a lot so far. I haven't gotten anything near what I want yet.
Sorry for my wall of text. Anyway, it's fun, but just make sure you care enough about the dragon to spend a fair amount of gems on it. As others have said, make sure the dragon isn't 'replaceable' first.
