I've noticed quite a few XXX, YXX, XYX, and XXY in the AH for fodder prices. I'd snap them up if I had the lair space. Have those gene combos gone out of style for some reason?

I guess supply has overthrown demand! I personally like XXXs, but I'm a primarily g1 lair aside from a few XXX or XYY dragons. (Because, you know, RNG) I think XXX can look very nice in certain instances.

It has somewhat gone out of style. People are growing more interested in XYZ dragons, especially with the amount of genes that have accent colors now. People are finding new ways to match primaries and secondaries.
Plus the general over-abundance of dragons means that most kinds of dragons can probably be snapped up for fodder price at some point.

Kinda, I appreciate XYZ dragons with nice combos more
than XXXs and honestly they look kinda boring most of the
time so I eventually began to avoid them somehow.

I prefer XXY , XYY, and XYX over XXX.
They just look too boring.
However, I prefer XYZ's over all because they're more colorful and varied.

I like XYX and XXY a lot more... but a good, solid XYZ will always be my fav

It depends on the color of XXX. The colors from the original color wheel have been bred out for so long that there are many more of them then the demand for them calls for. Some of the newer colors like pearl are still relatively pricey if you want XXX's in gem genes and rare breeds.
xxx dragons are a lot more common now so they typically don't go for as much anymore

@Moondragon007 It depends on the genes, colors. Metals & Copper have been pretty popular lately color-wise. Gene-wise, petbuttglim coatls are overly done & are kinda boring imo. It helps if they have genes that go well together but aren't super matchy. (tapir, striaton & jag/rosette seem to be exceptions.) I'll show my girl as an example.
