TOPIC | A dragon that isn't quadrupedal?
1 2
So far, every dragon on FlightRising has 4 legs/arms. The closest we have to a non quadruped dragon are spirals. And I just think that's kinda disappointing.

But so far, every dragon has four legs! Do you think a dragon with less or more would work? How would apparel work on a dragon with 2 legs or 6 legs?

Will FR ever release a new species after Bogs, anyway? It'd obviously take a long time to do all the genes and the apparel...

Well, wildclaws are technically bipedal, but they're still tetrapods :)

FR has said that they won't release dragon breeds without four legs and two wings, because that's what the apparel on the site is set up for. There was a WIP breed early in the site's development that never made it to fruition because it only had hind legs.

And I'm kinda interested about the WIP...

Faes, female skydancers, wildclaws, female pearlcatchers, and male coatls.
You're welcome.

Oh, but can't you feel it?! The void, it's calling me- Calling all of us! It wants to eat our souls, so that we never ascend to the heavens, it wants to absorb us! It needs sustenance, so that it may expand and envelop this whole useless world! All that muck and grime, the ooze, it will fill every crevice of reality, and it will change the world into a paradise! All you have to do is live to see it!
And why aren't I scared? Because the void is the afterlife, and I am its Grim Reaper!
It'd definitely be cool to have another bipedal dragon breed or a breed with more than 4 legs! A breed with only two limbs wouldn't work since that would require a lot of coding and time. Such a breed would either be unable to wear certain apparel or have the apparel altered to fit them somehow, which would take a lot of time since there's a LOT of apparel for arms and legs.

As far as I know originally, Mirrors were supposed to have everything doubled, so four wings, eight legs, etc. But I think they decided it looked too awkward so they just kept the double eyes.

Would love a six-legged breed, though.

More legs/heads/wings is probably possible, since the apparel could probably be doubled for it. Less isn't possible though.

@tharjar, here's two sources about the arms/legs/wings policy, plus the reasons why: 1, 2.

Here's a source about the original design for mirrors having doubled anatomy: 1.

The rejected dragon breed was called Swiftwings. The most information about them is just on the FR wiki: 1.

I'd love a six-legged (preferably insectoid) dragon breed. Though I'm all for more bipedal tetrapod dragons as well.
