[item=Centaur Ration Pouch]
Honestly, these are some of my favorite food items to hoard! And the caption always made me curious on how it would taste, so...
[img]https://i.imgur.com/pPH3Avl.jpg[/img]
...I decided to make some! If anyone's interested, I suppose I could post a recipe!
[img]https://i.imgur.com/62E0zeY.jpg[/img]
(It ended up being really good.)
But I was wondering, what [i]else[/i] can I make that's fairly accurate to FR food?
[item=Green Jelly]?? [item=Soylent Yellow]??
This leather pouch is filled with harvested oats that have been tossed in sugar and honey. Makes for a hearty, balanced breakfast.

Green Jelly

Difficult to classify.

Soylent Yellow
Insect
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your meat, plants, and seafood smashed, crushed, and centrifuged into something that tastes like bugs? No..? Oh.
I always wonder about some of the food items...
[item=greenpod bloom][item=speckled fire lily]
... but this is Sornieth, so of course flowers are going to grow near lava vents. ;) There aren't many human-friendly foods we can collect, but perhaps you might try these.
[item=longneck winter rations][item=berry and nut trail bar]
And of course there are many we already know, such as
[item=quinoa][item=amaranth][item=sunflower seeds][item=strawberry]
A few of the meat items might be doable as well, but most of the seafood I don't know about...
[item=turkey dinner][item=jumbo shrimp]
... and not many people eat bugs, so.
Though now you make me curious to compile a list of food items that might be palatable to humans. ETA: I did just that.
Ranging from accessible
[item=thick meat strips][item=dried jerky][item=peppermint][item=cinnamon][item=spinach][item=honeycrisp apple][item=raspberry]

[item=wood duck][item=goat][item=red squirrel][item=sun baked oysters][item=bluegill][item=squirming tentacle][item=chewy tentacle][item=umbral catfish][item=pufferfish][item=swordfish]
to, hmm that doesn't sound so appetizing...
[item=aged carcass][item=sewer sludge]
After peeking through a list of food items I'd say there aren't many that appear to be made as from a recipe, other than a few items that drop from Beastclan enemies in the Coliseum; many you can get on your own but they probably don't taste good by themselves, and many of FR's food items are just random Sornieth-specific flora and fauna that we probably wouldn't want to eat even if we could get them!
Harvested as a hard-shelled pod, these plants appear to bloom when slow-cooked over a fire.

Speckled Fire Lily
Plant
It can be difficult to harvest fire lilies, which often grow very close to active magma vents. Scoring a basketful is quite a treat.

... but this is Sornieth, so of course flowers are going to grow near lava vents. ;) There aren't many human-friendly foods we can collect, but perhaps you might try these.
Longneck Winter Rations
Plant
These dried oats have been saturated with so much corn syrup that the bar is no longer particularly healthy...
39
4
Berry and Nut Trail Bar
Plant
A preserved stick of pressed berries and nuts.

And of course there are many we already know, such as
Quinoa
Plant
Recently, Tundras have started claiming quinoa is full of vitamins, cures disease, and attracts mates. Mirrors are skeptical. (Special thanks to TCA!)
65
8
Amaranth
Plant
The seeds of Amaranth can be ground into a nutritious grain.
50
6
Sunflower Seeds
Plant
To plant and grow a beautiful flower, or to eat and grow a beautiful coat of scales?
38
4
Strawberry
Plant
Fresh cream transforms this treat into an indulgence.

A few of the meat items might be doable as well, but most of the seafood I don't know about...
Turkey Dinner
Meat
A meal that tastes best when shared with the rest of your clan. Except the plant, insect, and fish-eaters...
42
6
Jumbo Shrimp
Seafood
Strong and mysterious on the outside, sweet and tender on the inside; so dreamy!

... and not many people eat bugs, so.
Though now you make me curious to compile a list of food items that might be palatable to humans. ETA: I did just that.

Thick Meat Strips
Meat
The strips of meat in this bag are of unknown origin. They smell really, really good though.
20
2
Dried Jerky
Meat
This bag of jerky is weeks old, but still keeps a great taste and texture.
20
2
Peppermint
Plant
A cool, favorable plant that can be consumed to help aid a number of maladies such as indigestion, nausea, colds, and headaches.
63
7
Cinnamon
Plant
The practice of attempting to hold a mawful of cinnamon sticks for extended periods of time became strangely popular among juvenile dragons.
58
5
Spinach
Plant
A hearty, leafy plant chock full of vitamins. Eating a lot is great for the biceps.
53
5
Honeycrisp Apple
Plant
It's a challenge to get the skin off in a single, unbroken spiral. Sharpen your claws!
50
5
Raspberry
Plant
It's rude to blow raspberries at others, just so you know.
25

to still accessible but if they're sold commercially it's probably expensive, like the duck
Wood Duck
Meat
Much tastier than a decoy.
58
5
Goat
Meat
Wears an unamused expression, but could instead wear a tiny sweater. Think about it.
25
3
Red Squirrel
Meat
The Red Squirrel is known for its erratic, some might say screwy, behavior.
25
3
Sun Baked Oysters
Seafood
It is said that, apart from dragons, the only predators of this oyster are walruses and carpenters.
20
2
Bluegill
Seafood
A clever dragon will wade into fresh water and hold perfectly still, providing shade and what seems to be an ideal location for schools of bluegill to idle. They can then snack at their leisure.
50
5
Squirming Tentacle
Seafood
This tentacle is not going down without a fight! ...It doesn't seem to realize that the rest of its body has stopped.
43
5
Chewy Tentacle
Seafood
If you swallow a chewy tentacle it stays in your stomach for 7 years. It's true!
42
4
Umbral Catfish
Seafood
These tiny catfish school in shaded ponds. Direct contact with sunlight cause the fish to change color and expire.
23
2
Pufferfish
Seafood
The pufferfish holds the top place on the 'Maybe Not Even Worth Eating' list.
62
6
Swordfish
Seafood
Dueling with swordfish requires much greater skill than dueling with swords. En garde!
30

to, hmm that doesn't sound so appetizing...
Aged Carcass
Meat
This creature had very little meat on its decomposing form to begin with. This is almost not even worth it.
41
4
Sewer Sludge
Plant
It takes a certain kind of dragon to say 'Yes, that is what I want to eat.' If you are that dragon, today is your lucky day. Go with the eleven.

—Ginger/Auburn/Sanguine

Making your own is a much cheaper, tastier and healthier way to acquire müsli, concurred.
I have always blindly followed behind you and stayed by your side, remember? May we embrace glory together, for back then we could not. Grant the proper end to those locked up here, and to yourself.

I wish they made a zero point food item.
Something like:
Cardboard Box
The box is healthier than the sugary cereal which was originally inside of it.

hopefully this april fools we get our beloved box
