[center][img]https://i.imgur.com/YhnHssQ.png[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/JCURbGx.png[/img][/center] as we all know by now, [i]somethin’[/i] is going on with our deities right now- ominous gifs and new broadcast messages seem to be pointing towards a change in sornieth. elemental forces look to be in disorder, and the gods are awakening to warn their flights of unnatural disturbances. oracles across the realm are foreboding a great shift- but what, exactly, is it? other than the fact it’s not a new breed or adventure mode, there’s little to go off of here- but we can [i]sure[/i] speculate! :y while there is nothing obvious about the mysterious goings-on right now (and i may well be wrong in my theory), there are some old clues to work from. several times over the years, throughout the forums and weekly q-and-a’s, staff have mentioned [b]adding Flight Lore Articles[/b]. while the details of what’s in those articles is unclear (based on undel’s comment on the water flight, perhaps info on in-flight customs and attitudes?), it seems that staff intended to add more description to our elemental alignments. the idea has remained undeveloped on site- [i]until now[/i] (dun-dun). [b]source no. 2-[/b] [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/ZROBhHN.png[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/Do53AiX.png[/img][/center] from the older q-and-a sessions, back when the admins first talked about the draconic language and the name of sornieth (good times. so many lore tidbits...), undel said this. “will be released with Flight Lore Articles. :)” hmm. [i]will be[/i]. very strong wording, that. along with the capitalized title of the articles, it seems like they were planning on developing this idea on site more. hasn’t happened yet, but seems plausible! [b]source no. 3--[/b] [center][img]https://i.imgur.com/oOIV7lh.png[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/DvRkNFI.png[/img][/center] here, aequorin too mentions the existence of these enigmatic articles. a bit more open-ended than undel’s wording, but positive nonetheless. together, these statements seem to possibly point towards the current activity going on with the deity accounts. whether or not lore articles are happening, i don’t know, but keep in mind- the last time the deities changed their messages, it was for the [b]Beastclans on the Rise update[/b] (in oct. 2014). if nothing else, dare i say we should be looking forward to a new lore event soon? :> [img]https://i.imgur.com/VfV5Rbv.gif[/img]

Sounds like they might finally fill in the "The Eleven" section in the Encyclopedia. Neat! :V

As much as I'd love some more general info on each of the flights, judging by the tense of the deities' messages(rocks shift, inferno consumes, maelstrom churns, winds are changing)it seems more likely that we're getting a "fourth age" or something like that; in other words, an addition to Sornieth's general history, some time after the beginning of the third age.

That said, adding more info about the flights would be really interesting. :o This is the first I've heard of "the names each flight calls the world", and I'd definitely be interested in more stories from clans' points of view, a la the non-canonical Night of the Nocturne stories. Or more "slice-of-life" lore details in general, really.

I heard that it might be a map (art) update based off of other statements but I have no evidence.

:O!!! I have definitely got to go check out the earlier Q&As now, I had no idea that different flights have different names for the planet! That's amazing! I would be so down for more elaboration on FR lore, and if that's what the diety banners are leading up to count me in!

Of course, I'm excited for whatever it may be, and can't wait to see what happens ^_^

@starblaziing @catgame21234 @EPICdragon99 oh, i'm honestly not believing that this goings-on is totally about the articles, i have just been keeping an eye on that front for a while ^^ (that last ask to aequorin is mine lol) just like the unclickable 'The Eleven' page in the encyclopedia, it just seems like the deity account stuff [i]could[/i] be it? maybe? who knows :y the whole 'new-age' thing seems pretty plausible to me too- it has been like, 5 years now? times have changed. i think the player base is in need of some new ideas to work off of, and a new world order could make that work. not sure what this prophetic bs is leading into tbh, but it's interesting! :> could be beastclans stuff, elemental disorder, shade event, or emperor shenanigans..... :0 also, in terms of new map- if an art revamp is happening (which also seems possible!), then the windsinger is gonna play a part in the lore, most likely. a few points about art updates- 1.) hell yeah baby. old map is outdated, cramped, and too cartoony. revamp that sucker windsinger 2.) honestly? if his forum posts & old broadcast message [i]aren't[/i] hinting at a new map then i will be kinda put out :/ [img]https://i.imgur.com/k7WYEIl.png[/img] [img]https://i.imgur.com/KRMOEWK.png[/img] 3.) the homepage overhaul they did last year? it added that redone map to the sidebars, without any explanation at all. will we be seeing something about that? I hope it's not JUST those, but good eye, it's most likely one of the things they'll release soon. If it's this, a map redraw, and the Eleven article, it'll be underwhelming but a nice lore update.

On a slight tangent, I still think it's adorable that Windsinger actually stayed to listen while visiting Earthshaker. Though I guess being so far from each other's regions means there's not a whole lot of rivalry.
