BIG EDIT: LIGHTNING GOT THAT LORE but please feel free to continue throwing theories around!
so it seems that a fair amount of people are thinking that Lightning is the flight that isn't going to get a new article in the Encyclopedia
current evidence for this theory (or the theory that Stormcatcher is Up To Something):

in Ten Eyes [Arcane], Lightning's lens got destroyed by a lightning bolt. now there are only ten "eyes," as opposed to eleven flights

The magisters are now very suspicious of each other. Stormcatcher is stirring up strife.
"We will send a party to the Shifting Expanse to find out what has happened..."
A party of skilled dragons to the Shifting Expanse? That sounds like a trap, Bossdad.

In the Lorebook, Stormcatcher is the first of the eleven to leave Dragonhome and the remnants of the broken pillar
“Where I may not be found---this farce is over, and I've plans of my own,” Without a look, he took to the sky, sparks of electricity cracking off his wings at each beat.
[s]geez dad, good to know you care about your siblings so much[/s]

Speaking of lightning bolts, consider the lore for the Bogsneak mutagen. Baldwin's cauldron was struck by a lightning bolt at a very convenient moment...

From the World Map:
Of all the dragons, Lightning dragons are the most ambitious, changing the world to adapt to them, rather than adapting to the world.

The first BotE story released was Ice, Lightning's opposing flight. It would make sense, then, that Lightning either doesn't get a story, or the story is released on the last day. Ice and Lightning would act as bookends either way.

Stormcatcher sits on the top of the Tempest Spire. His new broadcast message is "The voltage! It surges!" This could be partially in reference to the bolt that wreaked house in "Ten Eyes." Did Stormcatcher send that lightning bolt on purpose or can he not control this storm? Did he get struck by some ultrabolt while up on the Spire? Was he protecting his workers/machines/himself by redirecting the bolt?
So Lightning is prone to going their own way and doing their own thing. Stormcatcher is a rather calculating dragon--what is he planning?
uhhhhhh that's all i got, thanks for coming to my ted talk
[s](lol watch Lightning's lore be released tomorrow and watch Earth not get lore ;-;)[/s]

What?
I thought their opposites went more like this...
Arcane - Shade
Lightning - Water
Earth - Wind
Nature - Plague
Fire - Ice
Light - Shadow
And on the topic of the thread, I do think Lightning's story will come last

Nope, it's this:
Earth - Fire
Wind - Water
Shadow - Light
Ice - Lightning
Nature - Plague
Arcane - Nobody

I was confused about this for ages but apparently Ice and Lightning are opposites because lightning is very fast and hot and ice is very slow and cold
like glaciers barely move for decades and lightning bolts are quite literally gone in a flash

Maybe we're misinterpreting how Stormcatcher said that. Maybe instead of "This power... FEEL THIS POWER!" it's more "Oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh I made a mistake how do I fix this WHERE IS THE OFF BUTTON?!!!" aka, "oops."
Edit: Maybe the world's end won't be Arcanist's fault for once.
Arcanist: HA!
Stormcatcher: Static electricity. For days, Arckey. Zaps. Every. Time. You touch. Metal. That means your thousand-lens thingy. Zappin yo eye.
Arcanist: ... Please don't. :(
