Don't get me wrong, I adore familiars. Filling my bestiarry as much as possible is my primary goal in this game and I [b][i]love[/i][/b] a lot of them. But some are just, meh - if it wasn't for the collection purposes I wouldn't really bother.
So let's complain a bit for fun!
Please remember to be respectful tho, this is not meant as a hating thread.
My least favourite familiar is the newest one.
[item=Miniature Sornieth Globe]
I don't really understand how it is a living thing to be considered a familiar rather than just a collectible item such as Diety Plushies.
Also those.
[item=Inquisitive Shroud][item=Valorous Cape]
I'm all for the mimics, the treasure chests are among my favourite familiars ever, but I think those two are too much.

Miniature Sornieth Globe
Familiar
A miniaturized globe of Sornieth hovering over a polished brass base. Animated clouds move across its intricate surface as it rotates. (Bounty of the Elements Gift - 2018)

Inquisitive Shroud
Familiar
Normally, the warning "don't wear a shroud that can whisper" would be enough, but this just goes so great with your new genes.

Valorous Cape
Familiar
It is said that this dashing cape is imbued with the magical essence of a long-dead hero of renowned bravery.

Hippalectryon
Familiar
Mistakes were made.

I've a few I'm not a fan of, wether it's because of the whole thing or one thing.
[item=Ravenous Cauldron] [item=Mirage Puffer] [item=moss-covered golem] [item=Shiny residue] [item=duskthicket bonepicker]
The one that takes the cake is [item=Arctic Hippalectryon] it's so ugly :<
Keeping an Augite creation in good working order involves semi-regular patching and allowing the creature long stretches of slumber.

I don't hate cats, but I just don't feel at ease with the golems.
[item=Relic Eel] ticks me off in a way the purple variant doesn't. Don't like the colours etc but exacerbated by drowning in the stupid things.
[Item=calculating candelabra] and [item=smoldering sconce] have expressions that irritate the heck outta me.
@UndefinedBeing
Guess you won't much like [item=Golden Idol] then either!
When slain, the organic portions of this creature wither away. The remaining armored plates collect energy from the currents and may regenerate a new specimen.

Calculating Candelabra
Familiar
A thick, romantic accent and welcoming grin enchant your senses. You feel like a guest here, but can't quite let your guard down.

and
Smoldering Sconce
Familiar
It is rumored that these bewitched furnishings can never truly be extinguished. Once one flame is put out, another springs to life.
These flowers fend for themselves, uprooting to seek sunlight, shade, and water as required.

Orange Blotch Pansy
Familiar
It is not amused.

They look fine, their design just isn't for me.
@Vendrus
Never really questioned the idol, because it looks like it could be alive, but reading it's description now - yup, not a fan. Could stand next to [item=Chimera Relic], if it's just an object.
As a sidenote, when I was a newbie the Eels would creep me out a bit, now i think they're kinda cute.

Something truly special, a one-of-a-kind marvel! ...wait a second... 'Made in Blacksand Annex'?

Never been a fan of these guys.

However. And this is probably a most unpopular opinion. But every last one of these things needs to go back where it came from.

The only one of the group that's okay is the tricolor yapper. But only because I like its colors. Sort of. It doesn't really make up for it, though.
These gentle creatures graze on the smaller algaes and grasses that occassionally take root on the surface of kelp forests.

Mammertee
Familiar
Dragons once mistook mammertee aggregations for schools of maren, taking care to avoid the waters they grazed in.

Cheerful Chime
Trinkets
These bells are often hung around lairs at festival time. Their loud chiming has become something of a holiday tradition. (Special thanks to ViridianSylph!)
