Please share your opinions: Is eye colour really important to you?

To me it seems odd to care that much, as eyes are so tiny in most species i can't really see what colour they are anyway unless i zoom in super close. But when i joined with a couple of friends and we each had 3 or 4 flights we liked, they allowed eye colour to decide which to go with... and i've also seen people mention changing flights strictly because of eye colours.

I have a pair of skydancers, one white with ice wings, the other orca with ice belly. They would make consistently lovely babies, but all have blue somewhere, often as primary. If matching eyes are important to most people i guess blue bodied dragons with green eyes would be considered unappealing? Should i give them to someone in water or ice flight?

for me, ..nah not really. if i need a derg i often look for fitting eyes, but its not so important to me that i wont buy a gorgeous derg because it has eyes that dont fit.

Honestly I don’t care about eye colour too much unless it’s really distracting
Like plague eyes on a mainly blue dragon..
skydancers though I’m pretty much not bothered at all with eye colours because they’re so small, but something like spirals? Pretty important there

And as for your skydancer pair, I don’t think blue bodied dragons with green eyes would be too jarring since blue is pretty close on the colour wheel to green, and considering they’re skydancers the eyes are barely visible so I don’t think many people will be too bothered

It's important to me even though Imperials have small eyes.

Sometimes it's barely noticeable while sometimes
it would make a LOT of difference, it's not THAT
important to have matching eyes, but overall it
does feel better when the eyes match. Like me,
I didn't even notice that most of my dragons have
matching eyes until I now, I don't even notice it
sometimes but I guess it's a subconscious choice
based on aesthetic sometimes. I don't know if it
helps tho, I hope it does ! :)

@Vinushka Honestly, eye colors varying from their body colors can make way for some dynamic lore~ Take Murphey for example. He is an arcane dragon that was always a fish out of water so he used a spell to give himself fins and gills to better adapt himself to his love of water. They are a bit of an eyesore, but that just makes it all the better.

These days it tends to be generally considered important - if only because it's extremely easy to get hold of most colour combinations. Originally tert colour didn't matter to most people either!

Eye color is really nice when it contrasts. Say plague eyes on a blue dragon or light eyes on a black dragon. Otherwise it doesn't matter. I think green looks nice on a blue dragon but I also love every dragon individually rather than as an entire flight or species. But that's just my take on it ^-^

i slap marva eyes on all of my dragons, so it doesn't matter too much to me

i do look for specific eye colors on fandragons/oc dragons though

It depends. Like I don't care for plague eyes so there's a chance I won't want a plague derg compared to like earth. Overall I don't really care but it honestly depends on the dragon. For example if it would be a permababy where you can see there eyes really well I would want say red eyes on a blue/green dragons ect
