In most clans not beliveing in a deity would mean becoming a social outcast, but some clans take it to an extreme. Sending your hatchling off to a monastery or an abbey in order for them to convert to a religion is a common practice among super religious clans. An idea frowned upon by most, clans with an almost cult-like outlook on their respective deity often roam Sornieth attempting to convert dragons into their beliefs. Using any means necessary wether it be hypnosis or a near-death experience, these "clans" are the bane of Sornieth's religious efforts.

Hmmm, that would be a good speculation, but I haven't seen many around.
((If I'm remembering lore-wise, the dragons that reject the deities wouldn't be able to breed and what-not due to magics and what not.
