Is there any naming guides for dragons? Like uh, I'm curious how the writers got the names for the lore characters (ex: Garote, I haven't found anything of his name origin.)
I kinda want to base my username around a name that sounds like it would be in the world of Sornieth, ya know, to name my dragon that when I eventually create her. (Still don't know which flight to choose, much less how I should make my dragon)

@Sytrism I don't think there's any naming guides, but you could ask someone to randomize a name for a dragon until there's a name that sounds great to you or like something the Admins would use in a story such as the flight lore stories. Also I really suggest making an XXY dragon in the brown or black and white range cause... Value(tm)

Hi and welcome!
There are no official name guides as such; everybody has their own method for creating them. Some of the lore dragon names are based on words (Garote is a reference to 'garrote', probably, 'Liefa' is an amalgam of 'leaf' and 'life', etc), while some are more random.
However, the nice thing is that there is a fairly cheap item that will let you change your dragon's name down the road if you don't like it:

Keep in mind that you can't pick your tertiary color, which can throw off the best-laid plans anyway ;)

1. Oof, I guess the randomizer could work, but kinda trying to make a name that fits me imo
2. Also trying to make a neutral dragon that fits any flight. I feel like brown is pretty neutral, but the colors available to me are...meh. I really wish I had clay, clay's nice. Also since tert is random, I'm kinda just a bit nervous about how it'll work with xxy brown. I guess xxy black/obsidian could work, but it's kinda just meh. Seems unoriginal to me. I want something that kinda fits me with my derg to. I think what I'm trying to do is make my progen my self derg.

Also I'm planning to change my username to my progen, since it'll be her lair. Kinda like how the deities have their lairs and they're only dragon is themselves (other than Lightweaver and Shadowbinder)

@Sytrism Well if that's the case, perhaps try finding interesting words that could describe you or an interest you've had for a long time and try to combine them or 'sew' them together in a way? I don't know what else to suggest, I'm sorry aoejgpeg :')
I forgot you don't have the full color wheel available to you oof. Are there any colors you think could describe your personality that are relatively neutral or could fit any flight? If you're trying to make a 'dergsona' or something along the lines I'd suggest that, or perhaps just colors that you personally really enjoy?
I made an xxy obsidian myself, entire regret because the tert isn't bright like I wanted, and I agree it is pretty unoriginal at times.
