I really don't understand why one would choose to make their dragon a hatchling forever, to me hatchings are just so useless, they can't fight, they can't breed, they can't do anything, all they do is sit there in your lair and wait to become a dragon!!! They don't even have some unique aspect or mechanic that might make sense to keep them young
so why would you even use this???? I don't understand??

I sometimes think about using one so that I don't end up accidentally breeding one of the few dragons that must stay unbred (cough market trends cough) but I like having a full grown dragon to put apparel or accents/skins on.

Selstii Because some users don't (or don't just) use FR for breedings, coli fighting, etc. If you're going for aesthetics, there are some breeds, colors, genes, etc that might be considered more attractive than they would as an adult dragon.

Toska I'd never even thought about that. Almost like vaulting your dragon. I know a lot of people keep familiars attached to certain dragons even if they're not into familiars, just as a way of avoiding accidental exalts - but that technique makes sense too.

Honestly, there's only a few of my dergs who I would actually do that too, but that's because I know they're not going to be useful for much else *cough* Dawnflight *cough*.

A lot of people say "They're cute" But I agree it's definitely a waste of what? 300g?
I'd rather spend it on the apparel I can actually put on my dragons :B

Edit: wow was not thinking this would pop up again let alone remembered my old stance on perma babies. Crazy how that's changed i now have a tab dedicated for future babies and have planned quite a few...

Edit: And lore possibilities too. Some ppl just want to have a hatchling to write lore about, or have a dragon be magically unable to age, be immortal, be ultra small/pygmy
