When I originally joined FR I chose Wind as my Flight - half because I liked the look of the Windsinger, half because I thought the light green eyes were pretty. But I quickly ran into a problem; I wanted to theme my lair around my Flight, but couldn't think of many good scrys. Eventually, I decided to use my free Flight change to move to the Water Flight, because I figured that it'd be easy to scry Water themed dragons because fish come in many shapes, colors and patterns. And don't get me wrong - it is. But...I've also scryed many Plague and Fire dragons that I'd like to own.
Yeah, I could change Flights again soon - I do have enough gems for it. But I know me. I'll probably switch and have this exact same problem, which is just a waste.
So my question is this; How can I learn to not be bothered (or feel guilty) for having non-Water themed dragons in my lair? I don't want my fickle personality ruining FR for me.

My theme is dragons that I think look cool.
Personally I doubt many people come by and check out my lair so honestly I just make it something that makes me happy to see. I know some people do like one theme on one page and then others on another page. Perhaps something like that would work for you?

yup, same here. my lair is an absolute trainwreck in terms of consistent theme (i've never tried for it anyway lmao), but i love all my dragons and they each have something that makes them special to me! with all the colors, genes, and breeds on the site, there's [i]always[/i] something pretty out there that i like. personally i have no idea how people can manage to stick to a theme at all with all the variation that's out there. XD

I've had a theme since I joined FR last January and I've stuck to it; I've even got some of my original lore dragons around.
My trick? I made my lore about something that I'm already curious about outside of FR. I love spaceflight, and my clan is a space agency.
You'd be surprised how many ways you can branch out from having a space agency for a clan. I have everything from astrophysicists, blind rocket scientists, and pilot-cosmonauts, to news reporters, student interns, and Navy captains. I've also had software developers, medical doctors, sci-fi writers, artists, and plain old enthusiasts hang out in our clan. There's a friend from college of the clan's founder, a good old coffee-chugging Mission Control flight director, and even a statue in honor of a crew who passed away in space.
I guess my tip is to pick something vague that you can always make exciting. I picked spaceflight because I genuinely love learning about it and originally my goal was for every dragon in my lair to teach something about the history that inspired them. That's a bit of a tall order in practice, but the spark is still there for me because of that. :)

What theme ? i don't have a theme . I want full pastel lair but so many dark color dragons look so cool so rip that theme idea .

After my last lair purge I've comitted fully to a theme. I haven't really had problems following it since like, if it doesn't fit my theme I dont really want it aha. I've tied it into my lore so I have more initiative to follow it; that might help?
If youre into having a big lair, maybe only follow a theme for the first page, and the others can have different themes/be whatever you want!

Having a theme isn’t so hard for me because i’m like SUPER into sky-blues, and I find black-colored creatures to be super aesthetics pleasing. Plus i’m Naturally picky about literally everything.
That said I have two exceptions at the back of my lair that I pretend don’t ruin everything.
