Flight Rising Discussion

Hi everyone!
My name is Nightfallen, a little icicle, who has been in the site for two years now. I've recently started to re-build my Lair, and I plan to rewrite my lore too. At the same time I thought I may change flight as well. At first I was interested in four flights, Earth, Nature, Plague and Wind. I chose these mostly because of the lore possibilities and the aesthetic. But I'm not a huge fan of dark eye colors so Earth and Nature are out. Plague and Wind left, and while I really-really like the darker lore of the plague dragons and the red eyes (awww) I'm not sure about that I can come to terms with the backround of the land. It's a bit much for me. And I'm not very into dominance, I have a Level 25 team but I play rarely so I may not be a big help there.

So the last one standing was the Wind! ^^
I like the light green eyes, they can go well with many colors and genes. I also love Skydancers and the landscape looks nice too. The exalt pillar is beautiful too!
I think I could come up with something for my lore. Though it's a bit temting to make my lore a little bit dark, but it wouldn't be too brutal. More like a bit mysterious. Anyway I'm a friendly and calm person, I may be a bit shy and quiet but I like to help to other people. I have a creative side as well.
I heard that Wind has nice people too. But I would like to hear more about the flight and the community. So Wind flight members out there could you please tell me about your flight? Do you think I could fit in? :)

Wind is a very chill place. I've only been there for a few months, but I know that we are just kind, goofy, people. The asthetic is very pleasing a calm. Our forums are kind of active. We don't hesitate to help new windies and talk about dragons a lot. Plus we jave Noodlefather. Lol

Wind is awesome! I've been in it since I started playing. The forums are active, and there's a lot of artists in the community. Everyone is super friendly. A large part of the Wind forums are games and giveaways and stuff, so if you like those you'll really enjoy that.

We don't push for dominance often, but when we do it's very organized. I don't ever join in, so I don't know a lot, but if you ever feel like helping during a push, there are a lot of different programs available to help you start, and you can contribute in a lot of different ways.

It's easy to integrate into the community. There's a thread specifically for new members that explains how things work in Wind and includes links to useful threads about Wind's culture, subspecies, and programs.

I think you would be a great fit for Wind! I hope this helped. Truthfully, I'm not very active on the forums, so all of this just comes from observation.

I’m not very in touch with Wind’s community, but I do know a lot about their lore.
Wind is a great flight, with good vibes all around. Nice people here too. The eye color is very pretty imho, especially if you like more “natural” looking eyes. And our deity, from what we’ve seen of him in the official lore, is significantly nicer than a lot of other deities. He’s a bit of a cuckoolander, though.
Wind prioritizes fun and adventure over proving itself right—if a Wind dragon went on some quest for an item, they would enjoy the search more than the possession of whatever they found at the end.

Yes they do . I was from wind and now I'm on vacation at lightning . We're adventurers in our lore so I decide to travel around different flights for awhile .

Yes, very much so! It’s most evident in Voices, where all of the gods seem out of sorts or serious—except for Windsinger, who sees it as a new journey.
Since it has received increased attention, Wind’s lore is great.

As far as having dark/mysterious lore goes, I'm Wind and in my clan:

• The Matriarch doesn't allow dragons of her own color besides her own lineage in her clan. This included booting out the firstborn of her Spymaster
• Said Spymaster may or may not be planning a coup and not everyone's sure which side they're going to align with if such a thing ever actually happens
• I had a dead dragon soul inhabiting a golem at one point during my lineage challenge.
• I have a team of assassins (who really are pretty chill by Wind standards most of the time but are pretty damn ruthless when they actualy have a job)
• There's an amnesiac mage with PTSD
• Not to mention the healer who conducts very questionable experiments but no one's managed to catch him in the act so as per the rules of the clan they can't force him out

The way I see it, Wind's one of the most relaxed and open flights Lore-wise, which allows for a vast variety of dragons to come and go as they please, even if they don't fit the Wind sterotype.

It's reflective a lot in our community too I think. My primary focus on the site tends to float around a bit, but I know even if I haven't visited the Wind forums in a while I can easily just slip right back in as if I've never been gone that long. And whenever we do push for Dom it can get pretty intense, but always in a casual sort of way. It's very much a "Do what you can when you can!" feel rather than "PUSHPUSHPUSHPUSH" which is the impression I get when talking to members of more Dom focused flights.
