I have this one idea in my personal clan lore that goes sorta against the official lore. It's nothing really big or important to be honest. But here it goes.

Certain breeds of dragons officially eat only certain things. Like mirrors for example - they eat meat and seafood only, but in my idea for the clan, I made them eat plants and insects as well. All my lore dragons eat all kinds of food they can lay their claws on. Why? Well I'm a fan of post-apocalypse genre from Plague flight and The Scarred Wasteland isn't really easy or friendly place to live in. Finding food isn't as easy as it might sound. So I figured, if you live in such harsh enviourment, being an omnivore would make surviving much easier.
TLRD: dragons eat all food, even if the game says otherwise.

Do you also have some ideas that don't really fit in the official lore? If so feel free to share, I'd love to read that! Or do you try to strictly stick with iofficial lore and not deviate much from it?

As a fellow Plague and Post-Apocalypse fan, I like your headcanon, but some species of animals [or in this case, dragons] eat only a certain type of food because that's what they need and how they evolved over the years.

Example: A dog won't grow a tolerance to chocolate and eat it only because it's all it can scavenge.

I kinda stay with lore, but I do have one mirror that only eats plants since "there's always a ground ton of plants hanging around." Plus none of the mirrors in my clan really have the whole "need a pack" instinct.
I also struggle to see my clan as a medieval-ish town-ish thing, they just kinda hang out.

I think that official lore makes sense, since it's perfect for the Scarred Wasteland that Mirrors only eat fish and meat, otherwise they'll deplete ALL resources before moving to other territories, taking longer for the land to recover. Plaguemother is Wise. She wants everyone to thrive :)

Not really related to the current Plague topic, but I tend to disregard most--if not all--canon lore. I'm just not a huge fan of how it has preset behaviours and personalities for the dragon breeds.

I totally understand where you're coming from but from my point of view plague is a very interesting and flexible concept. You gotta survive and to survive you gotta adapt. And by adapting you evolve. A starved dog can eat rocks off of the ground to fill its stomach, so I can't see why a starved mirror wouldn't start eating some fungi it found, even if it knew it's not good for it. It will either die from hunger or try to eat something hoping it'll survive.
I'm not saying that's how I imagine all plague dragons or those who simply live in plague territory, but just my own as a fun twist. In my idea it also didn't happen instantly, I imagine it would take generations for those certain dragons to be able to safely eat all types of food. Bet it didn't end well for the first ones. And it's all just fiction, so no need to strictly stick to reall ife examples.
i tried to fish up (pun not intended) that statement, but it looks like they’ve edited it to dried grains instead.
By the light of the small campfire, two dragons finished their paltry rations of dried grains
i can say with absolute certainty that it used to be smoked fish.

I have this one dragon who disregards the "you can't change elements or be more than one" rule but apart from that I think I stay pretty close to the official lore
