But, y'all, what's up with all the maintenance? I totally understand you need to keep the site running and all, and I applaud the mods for doing that every day. Heartfelt thank you, mods!! But, this seems a little often.... Are there things going on behind the scenes to be released soon...? *thoughtful emoji*

Yeah, the last one was three days ago. Maybe it's something that requires multiple maintenance periods? Or they simply missed something during the last maintenance. -shrug-

There's often lots of things to keep an eye on. Backups of the site, server loads, little fixes to small errors/problems etc... More users means that there's more load and that might in itself mean that they get some new errors and more reports on other errors that thus let them make repairs.
IT might also be small changes to help enable later bigger changes more smoothly; and it could be that the developer for FR has more free time to work on the site (assuming that FR is not their only work).

It surprised me to...the timing of it made me think that they were doing something special for the 4th of July--like they for Thanksgiving--but I couldn't find anything, not in the hoard, Baldwin, Swipp, or anywhere else, so I guess it was jut a really weird coincidences.

A new breed would have a much bigger lead up so people could prep for its release. It's 99% very likely just background clean up.
