Everyone is constantly complaining about Guardians, saying that they aren't watery enough. Slow down, you need to actually base what you see off of the physics of these amazing dragons.
Let us start with the females. "Not watery enough"? I'd say that's not the truth.
Check out that wing posture. That gives me the feeling that they can easily flatten their wings against their body, letting them easily glide through the water without friction. Get it? Got it? Good.
Now, let's add Glimmer.
Look at the most highlighted part of this gene, the stomach. It is ridged, and perfect for smimming and hunting underwater. It possibly helps out the same way that a shark's fin works.
Next, check out the face fins. That continues to help with the effort to glide through the water, adding grace to this already graceful breed. The fins might also be protecting gills...
The fins on the legs also are for the same purpose. They probably also help propel through the water.
The watery features on the male pose are quite hidden, and stand out less. This might be another reason that they are mistaken. But check out that tail. It is smooth, and the spines on the guardian stop growing there. This probably works like a shark tail works.
Now, tell me why you cannot tell that Guardians are a water breed? I hope that now you will find that Guardians are more watery than you think. Now that you can imagine them swimming through the water alongside many other sea creatures, can you ever get that image out of your head? Keep in mind that they also look a lot like Seawings(shoutout to WOF fans)!
Thank you for sharing a moment of your time. :)

Mm, I imagine Gaurdians swimming like crocodiles, tucking their legs and wings against their body and moving their body side to side to propell themselves through the water.
