In the depths of the night, there is a dull rustling sound, somewhere, to your left.
In the depths of the night, there is a chill that washes over you.
In the depths of the night, it seems as though something has found you, something relentless and otherworldly, something that is prepared to drag you into the depths of the darkness.
You glance about, searching for whatever it is that has come for you, what it is that will no doubt sink its claws into your scales and take you away from the shortcut you foolishly decided to follow.
The rustling continues and the chill has become the cold and you can only hope, hope that you can outrun whatever it is, that you can escape from the clutches of its reach. There is the overwhelming sound of your own breathing, your own heartbeat, and you can see something in the distance, some pinprick of light, of safety, when--
A vaguely irritated eye floats before you.
"What are you doing?" it seems to hum at you. You have no answer, and even though you are sure that your expression is stunned or scared, the eye doesn't seem to notice.
"Are you here to trick or treat?"
What?
"If you are, just sign your name here, if you would please, and you can be on your way. No need to go thrashing about the undergrowth and disturbing all my carefully cultivated Umbra Parthenium."
A sheet of paper somehow appears before the eye, asking for your name, among other things that you don't quite grasp. This time, your confusion must show because the eye seems to sigh, rising up and down in more irritation as it produces a rather thick pamphlet of papers, also from seemingly nowhere.
"Read this. And read it carefully, I'm getting too old to chase after you lot with sticks when things go awry," it says.
You pick at the pages and begin to read.
Trick or Treat is an event where individuals roleplay dragons going to one another's lairs in order to get "treats" from one another. As such, this event is heavily based around writing and less so about the getting treats.
Please be aware that unlike previous years, wishlists are not to be included, and there are certain tiers that permit "tricks", wherein you do not receive anything. As such, we ask that you please read through each tier carefully before deciding which one you would like to participate in.

- Sign-ups begin September 30th and continue until October 13th.
- Trick-or-treating occurs from October 14th to October 31st.
- You should select two dragons for this process, a treater and a greeter.
- The treater is the dragon that goes to other people's lairs in an effort to find treats.
- The greeter is the dragon in your clan that greets dragons that come to your lair asking for treats.
- In order to participate, you must have both a post in this thread and submit a Google Form. This is to ensure that individuals are able to find people within their tier easily.
- Visit each lair only once. You are responsible for keeping track of who you visit.
- If you have any questions or issues, please ping or PM the helpers listed below.

- As a treater:
- Check on the spreadsheet and see who in your tier has their Lights On, meaning they are accepting trick or treaters.
- Send your treater out to a lair with a cute (or creepy), roleplay message asking for treats.
- Wait to receive a treat, or a trick!
- As a greeter:
- Respond to the message with either a treat or a trick, depending on your tier in a timely fashion, which we consider to be 48 hours maximum. Use your greeter dragon to return the message!
- We ask you to please keep your Lights On if you are actively going out to trick-or-treat, in an effort to keep things fair.
