TOPIC | How much food do you keep on hand?

Since I'm relatively new, I'm trying to stock up on food before I get too many dragons. Curious how much food people like to keep on hand and how many dragons do you have?
At what point do dragons get hard to feed?

Dragons get quite hard to feed when you start getting more and more. My meat-eaters deplete my 300-point stock within 2 days. Start farming in the coliseum and convert it all until you have TOO MUCH food. Then your dragons will be easy-peasy to feed.

I'd say keep 1000p on you. It sounds hard but if you put some work into the coli it can be pretty easy.

@Skyyflower

I rarely have food 'on hand' so to speak.

I convert and feed, then convert more if needed and feed rinse/repeat. I also tend to do plants first so everything in the lair that can eat plants eats that first (as that's what sells for the least amount of cash) before converting the rest in order of seafood/insects/meat.

I have 86 permas and I never really feel like I'm short on food. However I also spend like anywhere from 1-5 hours a day in the coli so uh..Food is the least of my worries. So I can't really give a number on what's good to have on hand :'D

Wow, I don't know how you can spend that much time in the coli, I get bored after 30 min or so.
I already have around 700 of each food on hand so I guess I'm doing ok. Will continue to stock pile, I want all the food!

All of it. Unless I have a weird stack of food, I convert it all. I currently have over 4,000p in all foods, and 7,000p in insects ._.

Good, keep that food meter above 80 percent. I really only feed my dragons when the meter starts dropping.

I tend to convert about once a month. I'll go until I have around 15k-20k of each stack and then auction the rest. That way there's food and money to go around each month. Definitely get most of it through the coli, though. Whether I'm leveling fodder or grinding for bosses (getting close to having all of them!).

My lair is small and a good majority of those dragons are able to eat a wide-variety of foods. as such, I try to shove veggies down their throat as that is the cheapest food item. For those that can't, I just shove insects. I don't keep seafood or meat on hand at all.
