Recently, I've been thinking of changing my username. I just kind of feel like it doesn't fit anymore and it's time to move on. However... I have no idea where to even start thinking of another username. I've also had this one for so long that I'm more than a little daunted at the idea of changing it. So, my question is, what is your username based off of/what was the inspiration behind it? If you have changed your username before, do you regret it?

My first username was fuzzytailed and I named it after the fact I really loved fuzzy cats. My second, Teliact, was a weird one... I took a random sentence and the first letters from each word in it and said, hey that sounds cool, and voila, username. Ooh is just me wanting to be in the cool kids with 3 letter usernames club. Plus, sound usernames are awesome and sometimes people laugh at it which is great.

If you feel it's time to change it, then go for it! I changed mine (relatively) recently and I'm honestly super happy with it. As for what to change it to--is there any fandom you're really big in? A hobby? A plant/animal/thing you really like?

I've had Shian for many, many many years. She's my dragon character in Istaria.
However, since I hadn't played that game in many years, for a period of time, I took the name -Firestar- after my Star Wars character, whom I've felt much closer to.
After tirelessly telling people, no, it's not from that cat book and the fact that the forums can't search for "-", I changed back to Shian after -Firestar- died. Since I was not close with either of them, going back to the dragon seemed like the more appropriate choice for being in a dragon game.

i was tanagwal (a nonsense name of my own invention) for 3 years & felt perfectly comfortable with it, then i learned that the old skydancer was willing to give up their un! now i share a name with my favorite breed :)

I changed my username a couple times, and was settled on Woodkid, but changed it and wanted to change back, but then Woodkid was unavailable, so I made a big list of cool real-words that were available as usernames (wink wink)
Eventually I went through a lot of video game character names, and Brewster is one of my fave characters of all time (from Animal Crossing) so I decided on that one and now don't miss Woodkid as much, hah. :)
I think real word usernames are cool, but something personal is nice too, so maybe you could find something that kinda fits both of those!
