TOPIC | What if...(hatchlings)

1. What do you think would happen if a nest hatched extremely far away from every flight?
2. Or on a border?
3. Or they are carried through different flights throughout incubating and hatching?

@Khepri
That’s actually really interesting to think about!

For me, I think their personality would change based on where they hatch.

I think it was said at one point that dragon eggs won't hatch if it's not on any flight's territory, or something like that.

The Greater Horrors subspecies had a great theory on this :'D Basically dragons outside of an elemental area are dud eggs, unless something else latches onto the hatchling within. But normally, without elemental magic, they just don't hatch. Or so Plagueheart said, in their Greater Horror lore.

@FlareTheDragon do you know when/where that was said? that seems like such a peculiar point of lore but if it's really real, that'll be interesting!

@Alphazi :D

What would happen to eggs that are laid on land that has no deity's influence or magic like a chunk of random land or island far from where the main lands (the ones on the official FR map)? Would the eggs die since they don't have any deity's magic to absorb from the land or they would be element-less and have no elemental powers to fight? Example of situation: A female dragon that is ready to lay her eggs was somehow blown away during a travel by a hurricane and was sent out to the open sea. She found herself lost and couldn't find her homeland, but she was able to find an island for refuge. Then it was time to lay her eggs. What would happen to those eggs on a land without a deity's power?
Eggs laid outside of the influence of elemental forces would be unable to hatch; dragons are innately tied to their elements and those without one would be unable to survive.
http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/frd/1327998/56#post_12309459

1. Matches whatever the parents' elements are. If of different elements, then what the mother is. Or possibly random, similar to noc and bog eggs.

Missed that post with the response from the admins, oops. That makes sense too though.

2. Whichever side of the border the egg is laying on determines what the hatchling's element will be. Say a nest of two eggs is at the Shadow/Light border, with one on the Shadow side of the border and the other on the Light. One egg would hatch Shadow, the other Light.

3. Seeing as birds don't carry their eggs, I doubt dragons do so that's a very unlikely scenario. That said, I believe it would either (a) depend on which region the eggs were initially laid in or (b) depend on which region they spent the greatest amount of time in.

I actually have a bit of lore on this girl: that is sort of similar to the kind of thing you describe. She was a Light egg that was found in the Shadow territory due to some unfortunate circumstances befalling her parents.
